  1. I think all the names being presented are worthy, however, I think the best way to buy comics is via an auction. With that in mind, comics4less runs the best auctions on E-Bay. The auctions are weekly, ending every Sunday with 100's of items offered. As mentioned, the shipping is fast, safe, and reasonably priced. You pay, they ship the next day. They grade tight. Their inventory is extensive from Gold to Moderns, offering many rare and hard to find items. You will not be disappointed.
  2. Indeed. Trust me, I've seen it happen too many times. IMO, looks terrible and should be downgraded more by CGC.
  3. Not sure what 'AF storage' is ? I don't like the bags. I use EVA-DRY inside my Safe as you can 'recharge' them.
  4. You have another thread to discuss this. I responded in the other thread. Poor taste to have multiple threads going with the same info. BTW, this is not your thread, it is for the SW #1 discussion. You should stop posting in this thread, even delete the stuff you did post.
  5. No discounts second time around. That's a pretty bad crunch in the upper right. The upper left has a crease also. I'm surprised you didn't notice before submitting. Possibly, it could have happened during shipping. If you did not pack it properly and the book had freedom of movement or the package was dropped, something of that nature, it could cause that kind of damage. Personally, I wouldn't press and resub. If shipping is the problem, it could happen again. Financially, if you got the 9.0, it would be worth it but what if it only got an 8.0 ? There are no guarantees and it would be a LONG wait. Again, My opinion.
  6. I think the bottom staple is detached. Also, you stated #35 but posted #31. These Boards are tough on typos. I would not submit this book, not worth it, midgrade at best.
  7. Are you asking about how to submit to CGC or just how to ship a package ? Look at the CGC website under SUBMIT COMICS . It's all explained in there.
  8. The Tomorrow's Treasure comment is explained below in another post. You state you love CGC, that's cool, but again why the hate for Voldi ?
  9. And now CGC also distinguishes between conservation and restoration. See, competition is good for the hobby. BTW, I concur on Richie.
  10. I do agree, it would be cool, but....I think the cost of the slab would prohibit a $5 each level. I'm just guessing they would be at the $15 level to break even, probably $20 to make a nominal profit. Add the cost of shipping and the fact that the slabs are heavy and it's just not worth it.
  11. No argument about PGX, I understand and concur about them. CGC is obviously the bigger and better company. I can understand why you would prefer them. But please help me understand why you are hating on Voldi so much? Did you have a specific experience or are you simply jumping on the bandwagon here.
  12. Well Page Quality may have come into play here. Also, looking at the BC scan of the 5.0, it had strong tanning on edges. IMO, the 4.0 looked better than the 5.0 .
  13. Wow, now there's a thought. While I totally agree that PGX is not a real grading company and should be avoided, the other company is legitimate. I really don't understand why some here have so much contempt for the other company. It's not like it's good vs evil and you have to take sides.
  14. I don't think that situation happened here ? In all honesty, I think the hobby is better off with competition.
  15. I would vote for the book with the better PAGE QUALITY !!!
  16. Yes, I have often wondered why this is so. The new Boards are automated to catch any reference to the real Voldi name and it will not be posted. I can understand not allowing pics of their slabs but to simply state their name, puzzling.
  17. I agree that a 'thinner', clearer Stan Lee signature would have been better. Compare it to his signature on the custom label, which is much better. I'm not sure how much the quality of the signature matters for valuation but I imagine some would be put off by this rather sloppy example. At least the placement is decent. Cool book !
  18. Yes, I think we all feel that way but not much can be done about it. When you also consider all the private transactions, especially with the bigger dealers, that are not reported it's even worse. Most of E-Bay is BIN sales, not really a good indication of the marketplace. At least Heritage, with their auctions, is a very good resource .
  19. I believe they do not 'pull' their data, rather the data is reported to them. Comiclink does not report. E-Bay and Heritage do report. Not sure on other sites.
  20. It's obvious you are not the owner of the BB 54 that sold for nearly 40K yesterday. I doubt if #60 would have sold at anywhere near that. I agree that #60 is harder to find in grade, I love the cover, it's a cool book, it is rising in value but it is simply not the origin no matter what JTLarsen says. In any case, why do you care so much ? You are acting way over the top on this.
  21. But it is nice to see a 12 cent DC book get some real valuation.
  22. For comparison, my copy shows the two quotation marks. However, your 12 cent circle is complete, whereas mine is slightly cutoff.
  23. There is only a max value by tier. If your book exceeds the max value, choose the next tier. The Walkthrough tier has no max value. The value is what you can best guess estimate, using whatever you are comfortable with. Overstreet, Sold E-Bay transactions, auction transactions, etc. If you grossly undervalue your book CGC will bump you into another tier and charge you accordingly. Also, be aware that the value you choose on the form, is the value that will be chosen for insurance and Return Shipping. Don't overthink it. It's really pretty straightforward.
