  1. Yes, it's a 3.5 that should have been graded a 2.5 . I think it's terrible that CGC ignores such flaws. I have successfully returned a slabbed book to Heritage. It's not impossible. They are very customer service orientated.
  2. As a guestimate Rule of Thumb, I would double it for every cover. 3,6,12,24,48. You can probably put it in an auction here on the Boards, no fees. However, you have to list a BIN price.
  3. That bottom right corner crease precludes it from 9.0 . It all depends on when the book was graded so I'm going 8.5, with an 8.0 during a tight period. If it was graded in 2011 it's probably a 9.6 !!! LOL.
  4. I would not worry about offending the consignor. He knows what's going on with this book and probably chose Comiclink so it could 'sneak' through. BTW, I know CGC allows for a certain amount of production flaw to be ignored in the grade but, in this case, I wonder if they took the miscut into consideration ?
  5. I also changed my account to a 2 step authentication. However, I just found out somebody tried to set up another Paypal account using my info. Once the hackers have your information, could this be a work around for the 2 step ? Just to be clear, I was not hacked. I decided to remove my Bank account from Paypal account altogether, just leaving the CC. I feel much safer this way.
  6. You can use the Modern Tier. If CGC determines, after grading, that the value is too high for the tier they will bump you. And you are correct on the insurance aspect. Good luck on your submissions !
  7. This is good advice. I just went in to Paypal to make the Checking Account Switch and had some problems. Upon calling them they detected I had another account, same personal information, but a different PP account linked to a different account number. I did not set up another account so this is puzzling. I finally decided to remove my Bank account altogether and only leave a Credit Card on file. They said this was okay. I only buy anyway so this will suffice. BTW, they acknowledged they are having problems with hacked accounts and the hackers get the info from your E-Mail account.
  8. I really think you should return this book. It's obviously going to bother you.
  9. I agree. I think the owner should send this book back. Clink adds extensive comments to each book, the BC situation should have been mentioned. Years ago I was told it was a matter of not having the time to scan the back of all the books. I think it is by design, though I'm not sure exactly why. I know you can call and request a BC scan but still. I think Heritage will show the BC if their is anything to be shown, else they leave it off. That works for me.
  10. It will not get a Yellow Label, worse it will get a Green Label.
  11. I don't think you can list it this way, with the discount for not using PP. BTW, that's a really pretty 9.2 ! You cannot post in a way that violates the terms of service for your payment methods. (NOTE: Specifically, no surcharges for accepting PayPal, or discounts for other methods)
  12. I fear Clink has become the dumping ground for books with BC problems.
  13. My Tequila shots last night cost 15 bucks a shot.
  14. Very cool. I collect Beatles related comics but I was not familiar with this issue. I need to get me a copy.
  15. Sorry man, too much tequila last night. When I checked into the Boards I saw that the Mods had deleted a post of mine and I couldn't figure out why. I gave you a wise a** reply and reported myself. I think I did it so I could send a comment to the Mods asking about my deleted post. At least that is what I recollect. Sorry.
  16. Without seeing the book I would say that is NOT a good deal. He is asking 66% of FMV on a restored book, that's way too high.
  17. Trying to ascertain FMV for a restored book is very difficult. It depends on so many factors, desirability of the book, the amount and placement of the restoration, etc. No rules of thumb that really work. I would be very careful about buying restored books as it is easy to overpay and be stuck with something difficult to sell. I think you are better off buying a Universal copy in lower grade for the same amount of money. No easy answer or percentages for you. Sorry.
  18. I'm sure the WTB thread will be populated with requests for Blackhawk 133, 1st Lady Blackhawk. I already got a PM on my copy this morning. Not For Sale.
  19. I believe this is correct, less stress on the spine. The thought is storing vertically may lead to spine tics. I store a few of my books this way but most are stored in the traditional upright position.
  20. Since you replied, there is a possibility you are a real person, asking a real question. Please realize you did ask if a flaw will increase or decrease value. IMO, taking the wording of the question on face value, it was not a serious question. Now if you asked how will the miscut affect the value, I would have taken it seriously. Also, your acronym has embedded derogatory slang. So, Bro, I answered your 'asouled' question with an 'as**ole' reply. Sorry. BTW, the miscut will not affect the grade but it will affect the desirability and the value in a negative way.
  21. Fellow Boardies, I recently had a post removed by the mods, responding to a similar newbie post of 'should I get this trashed common book restored'. I think a Boardie with a grudge against me hit the mod button. I know for a fact that there is someone trying to prove how ridiculous the Boards are getting, how naive we are with our responses. I think he is right. Look at the name of this OP poster. Look hard.... 'asouled'. This cannot be serious. I try to respectfully respond to all legitimate newbie questions. If you think this is a serious poster, please respond but I refuse to be gullible to this nonsense.
