  1. Wouldn't that be from DC now, as they own the important super-hero characters? And, at least we already have Watchmen. Who knows, we might see a Gorgo / Godzilla team-up.
  2. You should try the Water Cooler. Lots of variety there.
  3. Perhaps this should be preceded by a ceremonial cracking of the slabs, as burning all that plastic and creating all of that thick, dark smoke would add more than paper to global emissions and the already problematic greenhouse effect; especially when baby boomer collectors like myself start departing in large numbers. Also, you could fit more raws in with you, and you'll then have more immolated reading material up in the Hall of the Slain. It's a compromise win-win for everyone. Nothing wrong with being a comics nerd but also being socially conscious to the end.
  4. Going to the LCS and conventions became too difficult to continue with because of health complications, and also I didn't feel I was getting enough out of the experiences to justify the effort and expense : repetitive chores rather than enjoyable. Also, back issue prices increased to the point where I couldn't be bothered anymore with the secondary market. I still stay in touch with what I consider to be the most important, lifelong aspect of comics - keeping up with reading the stories, new and old, and currently the digital format is working well for me, for three years now.
  5. Quite a powerful and dark story for the Silver Age, with Luthor's especially sadistic attitude.
  6. Yup. They look like tough guys there. The Reservoir Woodchucks.
  7. Art portfolio for commissions. I have a couple of Itoyas. Sometimes I’ll get concerned about the art slipping out, so I’ll add the sophisticated countermeasure of covering with a black bin bag. I’m not posh.
  8. I'm a lot happier with it, position-wise, than having a messenger bag to the side.
  9. I have a Samsonite version that I used up until around 2008. I get a bit concerned now about attendees barging into it, such as carefree cosplayers, and prefer a backpack.
  10. Yup. Good choice. I attended many English comic marts as a kid with nothing more. Crude but surprisingly effective.
  11. IIRC, that was Mile High Comics' level of protection at the SDCC where Chuck was displaying the last of the Edgar Church books, such as the Red Raven 1.
  12. Backpack with some cardboard for cheaper raws, trades or hardcovers, and a plastic box with some bubble wrap for more expensive raws or for slabs.
  13. Looks to me like a swipe from the cover of FF 164, which reintroduced Quasar's predecessor, Marvel Boy, as the insane Crusader... Too early on for Liefeld to be involved. Kirby's expressions could be quite shouty-looking too.
  14. Jessica Jones Crystal Hippolyta Linda Park
  15. Max Schreck in Batman Returns (I remember that the character was named after the actor who played the vampire in Nosferatu.)
  16. A very entertaining 50s B-movie. One of the better ones.
  17. Alexander Pierce in Captain America The Winter Soldier
