  1. Both, in my case. I understand. I've always searched for a nicely-presenting book, and I have many in the 9.0 to 9.4 range in slabs which look fantastic, and I don't believe I'd be any happier with one with a higher number on the slab that I'd have to pay much more for. Once acquired and sitting in my collection, the assigned grade becomes a bit immaterial to me; I have a nice-looking book and no motivation for OCD-driven upgrading, and the number on the sticker, be it 9.0 or 9.4, also looks nice enough and satisfying enough for me.
  2. Which Robin? The Winter Soldier would play dirty by sniping them, anyway.
  3. That's a tough one. Both Jarvis and Alfred served in the British armed forces, and so they're likely to have respect for each other. Then, it would more than likely be down to a tea and cream scone eating contest, and settled in a more civilised manner than loutish brute force. I also suspect that Cadbury would join in for a spot of afternoon tea, as well.
  4. Yup. It'd only be a fair fight if you had a warlike Thanagarian up against a Horseman of the Apocalypse.
  5. Not so clear-cut. Franklin has destroyed a Celestial and made a slave / herald out of Galactus. Their powers are quite similar in many respects.
  6. No, I haven’t. Even though I was joking and being ironic, hard to believe that ridiculous sequence actually was toned down a bit from reality.
  7. Matter Eater Lad More versatile. Doctor Manhattan vs Franklin Richards
  8. I saw that scene a few months ago on YouTube, as the film’s never been on Freeview TV in the U.K. I was impressed with Stallone’s restraint and subtlety, as he could’ve succumbed to the temptation of taking the easy route and resorting to relentless, cheap Grand Guignol carnage.
  9. Doomsday wouldn't have a chance against Mangog; Asgard's greatest threat short of a full-on Ragnarok.
  10. I've mentioned this before, but I'd say the worst, most extreme criminal I've ever unknowingly met was an LCS proprietor. Superficially, he always had an air of calm, happy, content detachment from the world, while, conversely, he'd suddenly make a comment with a conflicting, confusing degree of anger, contempt and sarcasm. However, what none of us actually knew at the time was this, and it does explain his somewhat polarised behaviour... https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/article-ronald-castrees-murder-lesley-7831883 Quite appalling. Even to this day, thinking about the interaction I had feels quite weird.
  11. One that's quite polarising. I liked it.
  12. I’d suspect it’s that. There’ll be a rush on buying Bizarre Adventures 29 now.
  13. Didn’t know you had interviews with metal guitarists in the magazine. Interesting.
  14. The best story these creators ever did together. Really good.
  15. I've always thought a slabbed Viz Comic 1 would be nice.
  16. LSCC was much better for comics. A shame that such an inferior event won out in the end.
  17. So, is this a replacement for LSCC? On their website it seemed that there’s been some kind of merger with MCM taking place? I wouldn’t have been happy with the comics content of this event. Quite poor range from what’s been shown in the thread.
  18. Nice to see someone cosplaying as a Sea Devil from 1970s Doctor Who.
  19. Great books, and especially this one for me. Always liked Simon and Kirby horror. There's an energy and creepiness to it. After EC, my favourite in the genre from its era.
  20. Avengers 25. The dialogue suggested Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, Silver Age art style and lettering, and I remembered the Avengers' fight with Doom in Latveria.
  21. That's a good one, looking at the dynamic between Wonder Man, The Grim Reaper and The Vision, and The Reaper's trial to try to determine which one really is his brother. At the end, it turns out that Wonder Man is now an ionic energy being carrying the memories of Simon Williams, and that makes The Vision content with being an android implanted with those same memories, resolving the conflict about which is 'more real' than the other, as neither one of them is a flesh-and-blood incarnation of the original. Yes, before Endgame I read some Avengers, including the Jim Shooter era classics.
  22. Opens here next week. Likely to go the following week when it’s quieter after the school half-term holidays. Definitely looks like the first occidental Godzilla film done right.
  23. I thought the ending to the series was quite satisfactory. Doesn’t really need continuing further. 140 + issues was enough.
