  1. I suspect the boards are not buffered and acid-free, though.
  2. I've always liked the comic. The town I live in, like many places in the UK, has a large Muslim community, and I've always found the social / family aspects of the stories interesting, even educational, as the books have been written by Muslim creators, and who, one would assume, infused a degree of accuracy and reality there. An engaging, heroic character, regardless of background.
  3. Being British, I thought that this was normal American behaviour anyway; forming militias, fallout shelters, an armoury cupboard at home, that kind of thing?
  4. I don’t invest. Just a reader. Couldn’t be less complicated or volatile.
  5. Never played the game. I’m a comparative newcomer to RPGs, starting with PS3 Oblivion in the early 2010s.
  6. The back issue market was in a terrible state in the late 90s, and you could pick up loads of stuff cheaply. CGC was a major factor in resurrecting demand. The secondary market was precarious before slabbing.
  7. Interesting that’s happening now with pulps. I think it was you that said that the market seemed quite dead only a short while ago, and that pulp magazines seemed to be a relic of the past, of another generation, very different to comics.
  8. A bit like Hulk 181. Common, but demand is stratospheric, as a primary justification for its price point.
  9. He’s empowered by the sword he uses. A symbiote. That retcon occurs later in the Knull storyline.
  10. I’m ordinarily good at identifying comics from a very small area of a cover, but, in this case, the level of mistreatment and dealer BS on display here maybe saddened me too much to be bothered about playing the game. Many nice books.
  11. Reminds me of 80s period Marvel. Wavy pages were common.
  12. Hate to see the classic Death of Gwen Stacy issues treated that way.
  13. It’s the only PS5 game I have, all the others I have so far are PS4 games I bought cheap. Another backlog, if different to yours. Fallout 4 might take me a while.
  14. Good idea. Intergang tech is connected to Apokolips and Darkseid, and perhaps that could just be introduced sketchily to prevent the film from getting too convoluted.
  15. I agree. The Kahndaq storyline was an ongoing, intermittent saga in Geoff Johns’ excellent JSA and Hawkman runs, so I’m looking forward to this one, especially as it also has one of my all-time favourite characters as well, Dr Fate.
  16. Yup. Also Ambush Bug, Joe Kelly's Deadpool and, over the last year, sorry to admit it, Harley Quinn from the new 52 series onwards. Ridiculous, irreverent nonsense. But, if you're down, better than wallowing in comic book nihilism.
  17. Good pick. For me those would be pure nostalgia, as it was the first 1-to-100 run that I assembled as a teen back then. Loved Savage Sword just as much. The Dark Horse and new Marvel books have lots of good stuff as well.
  18. Ah… Not paying attention in my case. Didn’t notice the Frank Zappa caricature.
  19. Great series all the way through, whether Odinson or Foster. Donny Cates’ most recent run has been a good read as well.
  20. Pre-Unity Valiant still holds up. Well-written universe building. A shame the company’s investors didn’t care about that.
