I'd like to post something here about a comic in the upcoming ComicConnect auction.  It's related to Action #1 in a way...it's not a normal book...the price could be anything.

But it's better to not say anything here, right?

To ruin the mystique of it...by getting strong opinions going here.  Correct?

Based on your historical posts, I assume that you are referring to More Fun #31?

The WMs were first offered via Sothebys.  The grades of many, while nice, is not quite as high as it looked like they might turn out to be.

it's surprising to see so many WMs that are consistently graded in the 5.0 - 8.0 range, rather than higher.  Do you think that the condition of the books deteriorated since the time they were purchased via Sothebys?

Picked this up at the flea market yesterday. It is a free monthly magazine with the goings on in the local antique world. Also auction results nationally on a variety of antiques. The cover just screamed out at me. I just had to know. Interesting article but what was of biggest interest to me was the full page article on PCH books. I have never heard of this collector or this auction house. Apparently, this auction happened beginning of Jan.

Frankly, I never like seeing articles like this in the hands of “civilians”. Gives everyone the wrong idea. Sure makes it tougher on us flea market scroungers…

Anybody here ever visit this library? Looks like the Sistine Chapel of comics.

I've never heard of that auction house (Potter & Potter) either.  Those were some very desirable books, I wonder if the low-profile venue was able to obtain the prices they would have gotten on HA Clink or CC?

    NA nos. 16, 17, 22, 27, 31 are not on the list

I can confirm the existence of nos. 22 and 31.

NA Church copies nos. 23 (according to Chuck's listing: "nm"), 24 ("nm"), 25 ("nm+"), 28 ("nm+") could still be hiding somewhere.

I have seen #24. It's a gorgeous copy, but has an unfortunate tear that takes it out of high grade. I've never heard anyone claiming to have seen nos. 25 and 28, but it's exciting to think they may be out there.

What's most interesting about the fact that so many New Adventures are missing from the original MH catalog is that it suggests that someone who had early access to purchasing books from the collection before the catalog was printed elected to go after the NAs rather than all the other choices available.

Thanks again for sharing these. Hope this isn't too forward but the final book you acquired to finish the run was the 27 8.0? (unless it was an upgrade of course). If so what a great way to finish the run. That book is spectacular and when I saw it listed I had the slightest glimmer of hope of grabbing it. I was real glad to see you got it, if anyone deserved it............

Thank you.  Yes, the last book in the run that I acquired was the #27, and it was not an upgrade.
