I'm looking forward to this - although I was hoping the price would be a little lower.
AUG130620 GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS TP VOL 01 (MR) $17.99

Coming up in the CLink auction. It's not everyday that you see a 9.6 Atlas !
End of World cover in NYC too.
-
Framed up the Walt Kelly Pogo Daily and thought it was only fitting that the Jeff Smith Bone cover be framed along side it since Walt was a big influence of Jeff.
The framing on the BONE piece...is badazz!!!! (thumbs u
I want to see that Bone cover!!

The True Love Pictorial 11 going for $400 is crazy. There was just one back a year or two ago that went for around $50. I'd say SparkleCity did well with the Bakers.
I paid $300.00 for my copy 5 years ago. Just mid-grade. Maybe I was ahead of the curve with stupid prices.
I bought mine just after seeing yours in person and getting inspired - I think I paid about the same for mine - possibly just a little more.
One of my favourite GGA books that I own. It's just terrific.
one of the best of his covers IMO
Yup.
Now I really regret selling my CGC 6.0 But it went to a great home!

comixnoir: Here are some "Baker" OA on the current Heritage weekly.

Anyone else think they're out to lunch on the artist credit of these stories?
This look like John Thornton pencils. I hope HA did research before naming this as Matt Baker OA.
Neither the recent book on Baker nor Overstreet credits either of these stories to Baker. Makes you wonder where the attribution came from.
Certainly, they don't look like Baker to me. Other non-Baker Iger shop material seems closer to his work than either of these stories do.
I don't see Baker mentioned in these listings...

Actually, considering a Crime SuspenStories #22 CGC 9.2 just sold for $17k on ComicLink,
you never know what a book like this could achieve at auction. Personally, I'd rather have the Venus #19 8.5 if I had to make a choice between the 2...
-
Well, the #17 8.5 went for over 10k, but this #19 is bettered by the 9.0...
19 is way better than #17 though! I say 10k plus!

Awesome book - the colors on that copy just pop.

You should try out Dishonored, I think you might like that one.
Combining the gameplay of Dishonored with the setting/atmosphere of the Assassin's Creed games would be perfection. What I like about that game is that you can complete your assassination missions without directly killing anyone. There's even a trophy if you can pull it off throughout the entire game.
I enjoyed Dishonored. My set up is on my PC. The game was tailor made for dual core processors and was one of the smoothest PC games I've ever played. I'm hoping they continue down this road because, as of right now, most games are still only optimized for a single core.

This http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6117092#Post6117092 is in the WC. I've been engrossed in Assassins Creed III since Christmas. So much fun and so immersive.
Wish I could say the same. I love the time period the game is set in, the seriousness of the story, and the mind-blowing visuals. Unfortunately, the gameplay does not match up to the stellar production values, not even in the slightest. And for a game with "Assassin's" in the title, it's real light on the assassinations, unlike previous entries. Oh, and I hate the Desmond parts. Always have in this series.
I'm 8 hours in and I don't even want to finish.
I'm having the same problems with AC III. I really digged the previous entries. I feel like there is something missing, even from a visual standpoint. It doesn't feel quite as polished as the previous games that were set in Italy. The AC games have always started out slow but picked up a few hours in. I feel like I have been waiting for the game to pick up and it hasn't. I'm about 10 hours into the game. Maybe I'm just not used to the fact that it's set in Boston & NY and the architecture is bland in comparison. It was amazing to run around Florence and climb the gorgeous architecture. It's just not the same so far.

Tough on this book as well... I thought I was getting at least a 9.6 on this one.
-
geez - why is CGC so tough on BS #9? Maybe I'm missing something but that looks nicer than a 9.2...
I thought the same exact thing, Jason. I've seen uglier books with nicer labels.
Really nice book.
Why don't they notate her first appearance? They notate her third appearance on E-Man #5 - but no first or second appearance notation on the BS books.
-
I didn't realize CGC is now using the super-size me cases with BS 9.

Wow - amazing thread Michael. Thanks for sharing!

One of my old copies!
Mine too
If I ever get it, I'm keeping it!
I bought it, got an offer to sell it for quite a bit more and immediately bought another copy....so I got my copy for free but I do miss this one and CGC graded it higher than the grade it was sold to me at, or the grade I sold it at. Congrats. It's still a beauty.
Thank you. I bought it from JvR11 in her sales thread last December. Apparently Jenny has been passed around quite a bit! Don't worry - I'll take good care of her!
