I hope not.  Graders notes on anything 9.6 and above is a waste of my time and the graders.

Grade more books without having to stop for such trivial non-sense. :preach:

99% of all defects 9.4 and above = light spine stress

Hit the number button and move onto the next book.

Agreed, Unless they note an issue on the interior that is not noticeable from the exterior of the book I find graders notes useless.

I so wish they gave us multiple sequels of that. To me, that was one of the best X-MEN movies.

I liked Days of Future Past as well. That was a tough story to adapt with a large cast like that as well as multiple timelines/arcs and I thought they did a very good job of it.

The last two movies were this type of moment for the franchise.

Remember when Fonzie jumped the shark on Happy Days in 1977? : r/nostalgia

Skottie Young cover is the attraction. It seems like the market has shifted to Skottie being the hot cover artist this year. Sold a ton of his stuff so far this year while Artgerm and Campbell have cooled.

If you can find them for cheap, pick up early Barends Marvel covers. I am getting more requests for them at shows now.

Absolutely.  It's tough to explain that you'd pay 10 cents per book when the App says they're worth $3 each.  If you'd even make an offer on that kind of bulk.  I always try to explain that there are winners and losers and most books have little value and that's somewhat compensated by the winners.  The ASM 300 is very valuable but there's a hundred other books published around the same time that have little demand or value.

That's because you only offer 10 cents on ASM 300s, Hulk 181s, AF 15s, etc..........:baiting:

Although it is way too soon to pass any judgment, knowing a very experienced comic book writer/director is behind this that was probably not the best 'first reveal' to cut loose on social media. That's what most probably surprised people.

So that fits into your "faith in Gunn" statement. But that was not the first good step forward from production.

    Exactly. Gunn knows better.

These numbers tell me that there was a huge non-superhero market for newsstand comics that was lost when the hobby switched to the direct market.

Agreed. There was still a healthy newsstand market in the 1980s. That is how I started with comics. I bought my first book at 11 years old (UXM 211) from the spinner rack and they were always full of new issues at the two local grocery stores in my small home town.

I never watched so much footage about a village turning wheat into flour

Search for SCTV's Russian skits on "Tibor's Tractor". Classic farming footage from the CCCP. lol

For those of you who are not aware of SCTV, it was the Canadian equivalent of SNL. Check out the list of comedians who got their start there from the IMDB cast listing: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075578/

The only legit reason I can come up with for Gunn to use this picture as an introductory photo was to show that the suit is flexible and not some type of stiff body armor. Warners did that with Batman Begins. It was a shot of Batman sitting down in front of Gordon’s house. It was meant to show that the new suit wasn’t immobile like those used for the Burton and Schumacher films. The photo backfired. Internet fans called the picture the Michelin Man.

Exactly. First impressions are hard to change. As a Batman fan, I was turned off by the early Batman promo photos and did not see Begins in the theatres which was a mistake as it was a very good movie.

Gunn and DC just made a the first impression of the new Supes to be a negative. Not a smart marketing move IMHO. They did not spend enough time thinking it through. I fight my M&C (marketing and communications) team all the time at work when I do not agree with a photo or even a single word (last week it was their suggestion of "make" and I battled for two weeks to change it to "create") on any promo material. You only get one chance to do it right.

As @awakeintheashes just mentioned in the Revival thread, the book has been given the series order at SyFy, and all of the cheap slabs have disappeared from eBay and MCS. Of course, plenty more have already taken their place, but they're now priced at $100-$150 instead of the under $50 you could have picked them up for a couple of days ago. Great series, hope the show doesn't blow.

Fantastic. I will have to pull the copies, including a couple of #1s, I had in the $2 boxes that sat with no takers for a few years now. :yeehaw:
