  1. I am curious to see how the start up of shows impacts CGC submission rates. As a seller, are you better off selling the books raw at market value (e.g. GPA) less grading fees now rather than waiting several months to get them back?
  2. Yeah, not great, but not totally terrible. It was too long for what they had to work with. There were a couple of people that dozed off in the theatre, and it was not full. Red Guardian was awesome - they need to work him into future MCU films or at least D+.
  3. That is my basement set up. No need to go to a theatre now unless it is a movie that the special effects are going to be noticeably better on the big screen/3D.
  4. I am just hoping it is an average Marvel film. And not being Citizen Kane is a good thing since that film is overrated IMHO...................
  5. Agreed. I think WB is making a mistake by not releasing films via streaming on the same day as the theatrical release. Aside from the profitability, streaming on a device on their time where they want to consume media is the way that viewers will shift to in the future. I look at my teenage kids - they rarely went to the theatre before COVID with their friends as they preferred to be at someone's place instead so they could talk while watching a movie/TV show. In addition, according to Google, with ticket prices hitting $15 in the USA (the VIP theatre is $20+sales tax for us today here in Edmonton), it is cheaper for a household of three or more to just stream it instead of going to the theatre. Add in the cost of drinks and popcorn/treats/food, and it is an even better deal.
  6. Nice start to the guest list. Kevin, just to confirm, there is no attendance cap for Edmonton like there is for the Calgary Expo, right?
  7. So if we walk out of the theatre and all view it as a dud, is it okay for us to ask why you did not warn us to see something else?
  8. We will have to do one. The most epic Calgary Expo group dinner I can remember was held in 2008. It was one of the LCS owner's bday and his cousin worked for the Ruth's Chris downtown so she got us tables there. When we arrived, we were placed in the Private Room at Ruth's Chris since we had a few drinks before dinner at the Marriott. In the end, the dinner for the 8 of us cost $3Kish due to the wine and whiskey. Thankfully it had been a great Friday and Saturday at the show. Sunday was a hard day to be on the show floor as we were all hurting. At one point in the morning my old comics partner and I just set a short box at the front of the booth and had customers pay there and make their own change since we did not want to move around. We pulled all the expensive books back to the wall rack by us just in case someone tried to steal one - that way we might have had a chance to stop them That was the hardest drive home from a show I have ever had.
  9. Likely, but the other four should appreciate faster.
  10. Some other books that are finally popping are the FF SS/Galactus arcs from #55-60 and #72-76. I think #55, 57, 72, and 75 have room to grow due to the covers.
  11. It could be that those two (60 and 63) are undersubbed a bit since they do not feature a first appearance like #28, but they are still hard to find in high grade regardless due to the black covers. You can add #51 and a couple of other dark cover issues in the #50s to the mix as well.
  12. I sold this copy of ASM #63 on the boards here in January or February. I have a few more in nice shape that need to be graded eventually, but this was the best of the bunch.
  13. Have prices jumped on the Sandman 18 blue panel variant? I snagged a copy at a LCS a couple of months ago for $4 when they pulled some Sandman back issues out of storage.
  14. Nice to see Sandman take off. I guess I should decide now whether to submit the double signed copy of #1 (Gaiman and McKean) I landed a few years back or not.
  15. I hope the market holds and continues to go up then. I have 50 tucked away some place and I should send some in I guess. I figured it would need more time to have some sort of value.
  16. Yeah, the discoloration is common on GSX 1s. I passed on many copies over the years due to it.
  17. Nice. I liked that color combo the best and figured it would do well long term. It is surprising to see it selling for more in 9.8 than the first print.
  18. The trailer looks great - I hope the movie is the same.
  19. I was expecting it to be Greggy with 99,999 confused emoticon posts.........
  20. Well, if there are bidders willing to overpay that muchfor books, I guess I will have to see what I can dump on them.
  21. What is the over/under on the number of new Venoms between now and then?
