Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay

I think a truly undervalued book is the first Mullet Superman. That book should be at ASM 300 prices by now............. -
Super Strict Grading
kimik replied to Hero Restoration's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Yeah, but some started out as CBCS which is a shoot. Hopefully Beckett taking over will tighten up their grading. They have been quite loose the past two years. -
Super Strict Grading
kimik replied to Hero Restoration's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
It depends on the book. I have had CPRs come back up, down (CBCS books at cheap prices ) and the same grade. As far as moderns, the grading is the same as it always has been - take time to pull the best copies and you get a 9.8. If it looks pretty much flawless you will be fine, just like the CGC has been grading them in the past. -
Nice snag on the CGC 4.5 #1. I lucked into 4 copies from two collections the past couple of years, but only have two left. Look at prices on the early issues from #1-20 now - they are running up nicely. You can still lock them in for decent prices if you keep an eye out for them. Here are some of the cheaper 1st appearances that are starting to pop: Banshee (X-Men 28), Havok (54 and 58), Polaris (49), Sauron (60), Sunfire (64), Moira (96), Corsair (104), Lilandra (105), Vindicator (109), Alpha Flight (120/121), Proteus (125), Dazzler (130), and Kitty and Emma (129).

I would say that you are correct with this assumption. The biggest 1st appearance in the book is Magneto, followed by Xavier. That being said, I have long felt it was undervalued (as well as GSX 1) since the XMen have arguably been the top Marvel franchise since the Claremont Byrne run. It will likely end up being the most valuable property due to the number of mutant characters/teams they can run with across all platforms.

There was a sale at over $10k for a 4.5 recently as well......

Grading is the same as it always has been. Unfortunately, the production quality of new books is not. Rumor has it that Marvel's publisher has decided to employ this individual to finish the books now:

The All Female Avengers Movie or "She's Got Help!"
kimik replied to Coverless 9.8's topic in The Movie Forum
I have a friend who was a stage and TV movie actor for a while in the mid 90s to early 00s. He was typically cast as a pretty boy/love interest on TV, with a lot of suns out guns out scenes. The secret to bulking up for actors/actresses is the same for any athlete that needs to add lbs of muscle in a short time. He said to bulk up for a role actors would do a cycle of roids on top of heavy lifting and strict diet. That would add the muscle and tone needed for the shoot. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
kimik replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I got over $600 for my CGC 9.8 copy, so it did see a nice short term spike. Now the book sits, but for a while even raw VFs would get $150-$200 at shows. -
X-Men #14 has seen a nice uptick the past few months. It is close to double the 2019 average across 8.5 and lower grades, with healthy gains in the 9.0 and 9.2 ranges. Same goes for some of the other early X-Men.

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
kimik replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Its an oversized book so while there is a built in fan base the decision to do that hurts the book. And it appears to have been heavily speculated on. Prices will likely react accordingly and adjust down when the series is over. -
You forgot the top movie theatre experience: The thrill of making out in public with your boyfriend/girlfriend in the back row while trying to be as quiet as possible.

Have their been any rumors re: Five Weapons Society being confirmed for the movie?

I never said I dislike the DCU. Remember, I am a Batman fanboy. Mind you, there is one thing I dislike now - Robby P as the new Batman

They are just trying to stretch the grades as much as possible, just like most of the big dealers/auction houses now with raw books.
