  1. Variety is good. The critics need to get out more. That being said, who cares what the critics' opinion is - watch it if you like it. Remember, the only reason they ended up as critics is that they failed in the entertainment or journalism worlds to begin with...........................
  2. So far my file LCS loves the service they are getting from the DC distribution service relative to what Diamond provides. They are responsive and do not eff up on orders like Diamond does.
  3. The Long Halloween is one of the best Batman story arcs. It would be great to see it as a live action film.
  4. Maybe Strange Academy starts in the film? Plenty of new young female characters there.
  5. The point where TWD jumped the shark was the season opener where Negan Lucille'd Glenn and Abraham. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they pretty much followed the comic with Glenn's death, but it turned off a lot of viewers who never came back (including my wife and daughter). I dropped it later that season around the same time I stopped reading the comics. You could tell Kirkman was tired and had run out of ideas by then on the TV show and in the comics.
  6. Put one up, call it a 1st appearance and anything can happen in this crazy market.
  7. I remember not that long ago having a similar discussion on these board when Hulk 181 and then other “common as dirt in HG” BA keys first stated jumping significantly..........
  8. Awesome OA collection, Dinesh, and thanks for sharing.
  9. Agreed re: keeping it as 4.0. It has nice eye appeal. FWIW, a CGC 4.5 copy sold on the 4th for $10,100 - looks like it may be going above $2K per grade point now........
  10. Hold onto it until Marvel announces development of the X-Men film franchise. It has further to go........
  11. Check out the prices on the Spawn #300 ASM 300 homage cover. First prints are up to $30 now.
  12. After selling some of my early X-Men multiples this summer at auction, I would say that early X-Men and the early keys are up quite a bit from start of Covid until now. Check out the X-Men #1 CGC 4.5 that just sold for $10,100 on GPA, for example. They have jumped nicely from July until now. I keep buying them for below GPA prices whenever I can find them.
  13. According to GPA, CGC 4.5 X-Men #1 sold for $10,100 on October 4th.
  14. Let them take their time so we can load up on more cheap copies of TOS #94............
  15. I will disagree with you in selling raw is easier. The easiest way to sell is using the auction houses, and that requires slabs for the most part. You ship either direct from CGC to the auction house, or get the books in, keep the ones you want, then ship a couple hundred or so slabs to them to do the work. All I have to do is fill in one form and send in 25 books per CGC box straight to them. Why do you think slabs are the slimy end of the hobby? The majority of collectors I know/sell to that are spending $1000+ on books go for slabbed copies to ensure they are not restored. I find most of the scams to come from sellers with expensive raw books that they are not disclosing restoration on, and/or badly overgrading and overpricing books. That is the slimy side of the hobby, and it has been here much longer than graded books.
  16. No, I am not exaggerating. Do the math on the 9.8s you sell in a year. You are leaving $10ks on the table if they grade out at 9.8 as per your listings. Right now I am going through my long boxes to pull out 1,000 copper/modern books that sell for $50+ in 9.8 to send in for grading over the next year. There are tons of books that I was selling for $6-$10 raw at shows that hit that value range now (with a lot of the $20-$30 raw books hitting $100+). Why leave that money on the table?
  17. So did Preacher. Invincible is closer to that IMHO. TWD was a bigger right time at right place play. Look at how fast Outcast fizzled, another Kirkman property. I think this one plays out more like Preacher, sort of in the middle of the other two Kirkman properties.
  18. Nice. This has a Preacher vibe to it and we all know how that turned out for the peak buyers.
  19. Looks like Strange Academy is seeing an uptick. 1As are hitting $50 - $60 now, and the last raw wraparound hit $157.50 (see link below). Did a movie or tv rumor come out? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Strange-Academy-1-Ramos-Cover-Wraparound-Edition-Variant-NM-Humberto-No-Reserve/174446250149?hash=item289dce88a5:g:2tYAAOSwra9faUwY
  20. I don't blame CGC for being hesitant on books with different covers and interiors. There are enough people out there that can manufacture them. I am not insinuating that happened here, as I have owned books with different interiors from the cover in the past, but it would not be difficult to make one if the price justified it.
  21. Hopefully. The only book that is still running up is ASM 15 due to Kraven rumors. Otherwise, there is not much room for spec runs on the other keys since they are so pricey already. I guess Molten Man is one that still has not seen any action.
  22. Nice to see him get rewarded for an Oscar-worthy performance the first go round.
  23. Some will be sold now, some later. I doubled my money on selling a first group of #1s raw and now it is time to slowly leak the rest out like any other spec play. It is playing with house money now.
