  1. I received an e-mail, but not sure if they called the home line or not. They are looking for consignment items. My guess is that with the press/slab/flip game being slowed due to a lack of conventions, and collectors holding off due to worries about prices dropping due to COVID-19, it is tough to line up auction items now. I will say that while last month was hit or miss for my auctions on CLink, this month is doing very well with a number of new GPA highs.
  2. How much of a price discount is there on CBCS books. Is it still in the 20% range compared to CGC books in same grade and page quality like it used to be?
  3. Has CBCS's grading improved at all with the relaunch?
  4. Don't worry. I still have a few books set aside that you may be interested in.
  5. Oh well. Looks like I will send more slabs to Clink this year than I was planning to.
  6. That sucks but is not unexpected. At a certain point they will not be able to bring in guests or find alternate dates for it. We will have to look to next year then. I wonder if the Edmonton Expo will be cancelled?
  7. Here is my current copy with the Tattooz insert and sample. Every Canadian copy I have owned over the years has had them.
  8. I am glad I was able to trade my B&B #28 CGC 6.0 for a number of Marvel SA and BA keys to a dealer two and a bit years ago. At these prices I am almost tempted to buy again, but if you are chasing DC now, then go for the Batman SA keys instead.
  9. If it is late summer then you may as well stay and hit the Edmonton Expo a week later.
  10. I have two co-morbid conditions so it's nada for me No Greggy at the Calgary Expo?
  11. The Marvel fanboys on top of things have moved on to Sub-Mariner now. Spidey is yesterday's Marvel top dog.
  12. They should be clamoring for her as Sue Storms instead then.......
  13. Those boxes of $2 books are only $250, instead of $500.
  14. If the Calgary Expo goes ahead I will be there. I need to unload a bunch of new $2 boxes I was prepping for the local shows.
  15. I've been there since the first show Ken did on his own at the Big Four Building. You guys were still getting gouged by Mel and I at that time..........
  16. Talking to a couple of LCS owners here, most stores that depend on weekly single issue sales and gaming are in trouble. One that has added a significant amount of TPBs and youth comic-related items (DC and Marvel kids lines, as well as some other stuff) is doing well. Weekly single issue sales are down, but TPB and the youth books sales are up. They are doing curbside transactions since the store is technically closed (non-essential business). Parents are buying books for their kids, and collectors are reading more now, which is helping drive other sales.
  17. I am going to close this thread for now and reopen it when a new group of books arrives from CGC next week.
  18. I had the main Joes and Transformers titles at the time, and I can see how it would have been tough to follow without it. I just loved the fact that they had the two most popular franchises of my childhood at the time together in one book. The story is probably weak now, but at the time I thought it was awesome. Unfortunately both titles started to go downhill shortly after that.
  19. For every kid that grew up with the toys and cartoons, GI Joe vs Transformers was a must have when it came out.
