  1. This is the better question. Most keys and hot artist/classic cover books in all age groups are increasing in value.
  2. I would love to see this hit $412-$415 domestically somehow. I think that is a stretch, but that would be awesome.
  3. One of my all time favorite Zeck covers! Looks even better as a CDN edition.
  4. John has already diddled with his aunt, so a cousin should not even garner a second thought. Besides, isn't this how things were done in Royal Dynasties in Europe for centuries?
  5. You are underestimating Sansa. She is slow playing everyone and letting them underestimate her. That is her schtick. Remember her comments about learning a lot from Cersei? She would have also learned from poor Baylish how to be devious and plot in the shadow. In the end I see her developing into a cunning leader type that is better at navigating politics than John. Wouldn't this be funny in the end - John marries Sansa and they rule from the Iron Throne!
  6. Definitely. It was even less if you used a good discount service.
  7. Damnit, this thread has made me include a few Canadian editions in my next submission to CGC.
  8. Agreed. Depending on the day, CGC can be harsh on tears.
  9. It depends on the dealer, I guess. I am just a part-time dealer/collector so my strategy at shows is simple - I do not bring my best stuff on setup day. I would rather blow out the lower grade undercopies/multiples and easy to replace books with other dealers that are looking to pick up inventory for cheap pre-show. Basically, I just bring the stuff that I am willing to give a decent discount on (all dealers/collectors on dealer passes want the "dealer" discount) and generate pre-show sales. Why sell your best stuff at a discount when you can get a better price during the show? Or even better, sell the good stuff at a discount to a collector that is/will become a long term customer? Now, if I did this for a living I would likely take a different approach, but as a collector/dealer I do not mind holding onto the best stuff. As far as buying, I am usually too busy setting up and pricing stuff out to have much time for it pre-show (I need to be more organized in advance, I guess ) since I do not usually have help with me and I also try to stick to my rule that I can only buy with funds I make at the show. I know this means that I miss out on some great deals, but so be it.
  10. I am a bit slow on posting these, but here are a couple of pics from an early August collection I snagged on kijiji. The ASM 121 and 122 are not in these pics as I had already pulled them (and they will be off to CGC in my next submission shortly). It was an 11 long box collection with 5 plus boxes of Spidey titles. The earliest ASM was #46, with the run being mostly complete from #200 up. Unfortunately, the run from 46-199 was spotty with the 46, 121, 122, 134, 135 being the only key/semi key books. That being said, there were other copper keys/hit books and hot minis in it. I can't complain as the price was very reasonable........
  11. Looking at how weak the slate of films is for this coming long weekend, will there be more theatres added?
  12. It is only awkward in some US states..........in others it is not an issue. Notice the uncanny resemblance to John Snow in this image.
  13. I bought an ASM #129 CGC 7.5 and Iron Man #55 CGC 7.0 from John. It was a great transaction and I would not hesitate to buy from him again. Thanks, John!
  14. All of the slabs have been listed on eBay. This thread is closed for now.
  15. Another fun part of the action last night was Theon's reaction to the two or three knees to the groin.
  16. I am not rushing to any conclusion at this point. Remember when all the false news was coming out that WW had issues and people were assuming a train wreck? It turned out to just be rumors after all. I am thinking this will follow the same pattern. I can understand the need for retakes/reshoots with a new director coming on to helm things. Whedon will have his own vision of what the tone he wants to set with the film. As we have seen, fans want happy endings with their superhero flick, so hopefully it is more Avengers 1 than Avengers AoU.
  17. I really hope that Euron is the father of Cersei's child (if she really is pregnant). That would be awesome! I don't think she would do that, though, as she is so focused on preserving the Lanister family.
  18. What a fun way to finish the season and set things up for a big finale next year. I will not post many thoughts due to the potential of unintended spoilage, but I feel bad for how nasty the Sansa girls were to their guest at Winterfell. I can't wait to see all the meme's next year when Dany realizes who John is.
  19. If I had it at a show with me I would grade it as a FR (1.0) due to the wear, blown staple, and what appears to be a decent sized split at the bottom of the spine.
  20. My grade would be 1.0 (FR) due to wear, staining/foxing, and detached centrefold.
  21. I like the Sheena #0 1:100 is a cropped version of that image better:
  22. My daughter can't wait for Season 2. We have Veronica and Cheryl at the Edmonton Expo September 25 & 26 - perfect timing for autographs before the premiere in early October. Should be great for Betty & Veronic #1 Hughes cover sales.
