  1. Bob, PLEAAASSSEEE!!!!!! Enough with these ridiculous comments!!!!! I know that was pretty lame I try to be as funny as greggy, but I don't have the chops This partial post makes me look so mean I have to add the last part of the post to defend myself and show the spiritual continuity of your statement "Everyone knows, that a 5.25 #22.5 will come out of the drawer if you unslab a 4.5 #22 and a 6.0 #23 and keep the drawer closed. "
  2. I have to agree that in the long run a 29 is better than a 31, scarcity will win out in the end. +1 (thumbs u
  3. Bob, PLEAAASSSEEE!!!!!! Enough with these ridiculous comments!!!!! A 6.0 will always be a 6.0 and a 4.5 will always stay a 4.5, unless you alter them!!!! Everyone knows, that a 5.25 #22.5 will come out of the drawer if you unslab a 4.5 #22 and a 6.0 #23 and keep the drawer closed.
  4. That was that only a 1.0 I think he meant to write "why" and completely lost his words when he saw this So did I......so, why is this a 1.0? Split cover, loose pages.... anything
  5. If you're able to find a Tec 31 CGC 0.5 in the 5-6K range today, I say buy it. I've never seen a nicer 0.5. Here's a close-up scan. BTW, I've acquired a back cover for this book. Do you think I should have it restored? Is this Johns old copy? If so, I believe it is an OO book. Nice nevertheless .
  6. That is beautiful, congratulations Thank you, and thanks for helping me post the pic My pleasure (thumbs u
  7. It´s not a comic, but there´s definitely not enough Mary Marvel in here. I just saw this drawing and thought it´d cheer this thread up a little bit. It is a modern MM mix of Cap Jr. 1, Special Edition 1 with a GA flavor.
  8. Really nice The #17 is only seldom seen.....when you think about it....all the Whiz books are pretty rare...
  9. I don´t think that there are any higher graded copies of #22 out there, so you pretty much got the highest graded copy, with great eye appeal and an astonishing cover! To be honest, I would have gone for it and would have bid even more for that book if I didn´t already have the Crowley copy ( ).....How about posting those 2 babies?
  10. That is a shame Looks amazing nevertheless. I honestly wouldn´t mind a bit of glue.
  11. Very sweet, Roy There are only 4 copies of #13 in the cgc census and yours looks so nice. AWESOME!
  12. This is my earliest book from the Cap. Marvel series. I love those Nazi-beating covers and this book is actually pretty rare, with only 3 higher graded copies the highest being a 8.0.
  13. The late, great, Leonard Brown I'm glad you knew who that was. Too often I get this sickening feeling that the first generation of collectors are simply forgotten. If it wasn't for them, there'd be a lot less GA to collect. So many of them remain nameless, yet they loved these books and saved them when most people could have cared less. I bought Leonard's comic collection in the early 90s. It became known as the Crescent City Collection. His best friend for many years is our own Richard Olsen (yellow kid). He can tell you many stories about their exploits in those days What were the grades on Bats 1 and Supes 1? Were there any early Actions or Tecs? Do you still have any of these books?
  14. decisions..decisions... This must be how George looks like before he goes to the toilet to... "read"
  15. This is a real looker! Congrats, Imran
  16. ah, my old copy (the 774 submission is still on my old invoice list) Beautiful book! nice to see how many books stay among our fellow boardies (thumbs u I had the chance to upgrade this copy some time ago, but then it came down to either upgrade #3 or #25.....it was a hard choice to make, but I went with the 25
  17. That was a nice run These covers look so cool. How can these books be so underappreciated. The answer is obvious, of course. Since DC got the rights of Cap an co, they hid those figures very well instead of boosting them. Now they are long forgotten characters that appear here and there in a special, if at all and still are a lot like they were in the 40´s......This makes me so furious
