  1. Good luck to you, too, then (thumbs u
  2. That high, he? they have been scheduled for 3 days, so should get graded today or monday Good luck with the grades (thumbs u
  3. Could anyone else confirm there is a SC22 Bethlehem copy? Some notable Bethlehem keys: SC8 8.0, SC 9 8.0, SC13 9.0, SC24 9.0. There is a possibility, but it's a long shot. With CREAM "makes me scream" pages
  4. Maybe this high price may bring a few more 5.0's or 6.0's out. I think $15000-20000 for the 8.0 Mound City copy looks reasonable now. Define "reasonable"! This book is currently driven by supply and demand. Collectors now recognizes that SC 22 page quality is normally crm/ow. This particular 5.5 has off-white pages, and as detective27kid said " On sc22 pq is a big deal if you are looking for a separating quality over other copies". This copy deserves a premium...but $3803.64??? Regarding the Mound City 8.0, this is the only publicly high grade copy available for sale and the rest is tucked away in collections. Below are examples of other notable Silver Age keys sales which I have mentioned before. Let's use BB 28 and Avengers 1 as a comparison. The 3rd highest graded BB 28 (which there is five) sold in Comiclink for $21000. Also, let's use Avengers 1 as a comparison. A 8.0 (5th highest and 23 copies) sold in CL for $26000 and a 9.0 (4th highest and ten copies) for $20000 again in CL. Showcase 22 is in high demand and there are less high grade copies available compare to their counterparts. I wouldn't argue that the price is unreasonable given the market. I'm just saying that the market is not being driven by reason, or at least by anything reasonable related to appreciation of comics. Call it irrational exhuberance! I would say that prices are being driven by demand, not supply. The supply a year or two ago was the same as it is today (actually less, because copies are coming out of the woodwork now). So why is the price suddenly going up? Because demand has gone crazy. And why has demand gone crazy? Because of pure speculation. People want to get a copy to invest in hoped for profits down the road (or maybe next week). I do agree...it's irrational exuberance! This SC 22 5.5 sold for double what a BB28 in 5.5 and one and a half time a Avengers 1 in 5.5. At this rate it is the second most valued DC Silver Age comic and this is not based on OSPG prices. Also, the data that Peewee22, the help with others, and I collected confirms the supply and the scarcity of higher grade copies. (thumbs u SC #22 should is the second most important DC SA key behind #4 in my opinion. B&B #28 is nice, but it is basically an earlier version of Avengers #1. I could buy the argument that B&B 28 is just a later version of All Star #3 (which obviously it is), but not that it`s an earlier version of Avengers #1. This completely dismisses its historical and influential role in the Silver Age and its direct impact on creating the Marvel era, which is something no other DC book can claim. It`s like saying that Batman is basically an earlier version of Moon Knight. If you`re going to go down that path, then you`re vulnerable to the stupid argument that the Marvel Zombies always use: what`s so special about Showcase #22, since it`s just the reintroduction of a character who first appeared in All American #16? Thank you! Someone is finally standing up for DC (thumbs u
  5. You made a great entrance to the thread and the boards. Welcome to the posting part That copy is gorgeous (thumbs u
  6. I stopped my run at 25...maybe should have extended it a bit Cap Marvel ROCKS! Beautiful book (thumbs u
  7. Very cool book! I gotta get me a copy of this issue one day. I have been enjoying some scuba diving this summer. Also, Flessel covers rock! Thank you! It´s going to be difficult and take some time, but I wish you best of luck with your search (thumbs u
  8. Here´s another great Flessel cover that hasn´t been posted yet (low grade, but very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very rarely comes up for sale (if at all))
  9. (thumbs u Will try to take a picture with both copies when I have time and will post it in both sections
  10. It is probably too pricey as is right now to see much of a jump. Didn't a 5.5 go for $60K in the last Clink auction? yep I had 3 AA 16's just 3 months ago, have sold 2 of them...but, this is not a book that will be affected by the movie for the following reasons: 1)short supply...this book has always had more demand than supply and prices are already strong 2)it is Alan Scott, has nothing (technically) to do with Hal Jordan (movie spec) 3) price point (avg copy of AA 16 will run you $20,000 good info I´m glad I got both first GL app.´s
  11. Cha-ching! I still can´t believe this book went for 70k on Clink
  12. Have not been graded yet. You mean the Mound copy is a cgc graded 8.0, or am I missing something here? Let me clarify: 1) The Mound #22 graded CGC 8.0 with C/OW PQ 2) The Mound #23 and #24 have not been graded by CGC yet. Are you kidding? This one´s a 8.0 and mine is a 7.5? Yep. Just down a couple of strong ones and start a new day tomorrow... Peewee, did you said the Mound copy is CGC 8.0? This will be the forth 8.0. If it is, the census has not been updated yet. there should be a 5th 8.0 added soon too You got the one you were after before, or a new one? until the deal is done, it is just a but I believe I am close Godd luck then

  14. Now, someone show me any other SA (key) census whereas you have only 7 copies > 7.5 and "zero..zilch...goose-eggo" > 9.0. Let's compare it to the other top two notable DC Silver Age: Brave and the Bold 28 has 18 copies above 7.5 and Showcase 4 has 12 copies above 7.5. Which makes SC 22 scarce in high grade. Who will be the first two score the 9.2 SC 22??? Doesn´t it always work that way? Whoever presses their 9.0 first?

  17. Metropolis sold a 8.5 late last year. Comics trades hands everyday, so this copy may have been the Nic Cage copy Metro sold. Nope. It is the one, that´s already been posted here
  18. Any opinions on how mine would grade? I've never had a book graded, by the way... Very nice presentable copy. From what I see, I'll give it a 6.0. Get it graded, and it may join the high grade 6.0 and above. (thumbs u Add the Mound City #22 copy to the list. It's an 8.0 with C/OW pages! Will be auctioned in Nov. See Mound City auction thread in General Comics for more details. doesn´t really look like a 8.0 to me
  19. I´ll hit the middle and say 6.0 (thumbs u
  20. You gotta tell us the grades and PQ....so we'll all know how these nice puppies impact the #22 censuses. This is Palamas undercopy. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3312284&fpart=2 Hey Richard! Yeah, that is my undercopy, that I got from Scott. And the other 7.5 is mine as well I posted it before, but you can´t post it enough Enjoy. Wow ! I guess I missed this in the threads ! Absolutely gorgeous colors !!!!!!! You and I have twin sisters !! Thanks! Yours looks awesome, too. You know, it would be great to organize a playdate for those two. Send her over
