    Either a scratch, hair or printing defect. If a scratch I assume would limit to 9.6.

    Not sure how bad they ding you on the staples, but I am going to err on the side of caution and say 8.5. Slabbed it will present like a mid 9.

    I agree the top book is in just slightly better condition. Maybe an 8.0 on book 1 and 7.5 on book 2. Did the listing use a stock image? I always look for that before bidding. Also what grade did he list it at?

    IF you can remove the tape without damaging the book and get it pressed, I think this could easily be a 7.0.
