Some of the mistakes I mainly make are with moderns. I might collect about 15 titles a month and most recently they relaunched She-hulk. The series prior was kinda but I stuck through it. The latest series took me all of one issue to tap out. My LCS automatically signs you up when a series reboots and I never opted out during the relaunch. Certainly a lot less expensive than what @D2 was referencing but I keep doing it over and over. It's the completionist in me that keeps me buying ...

Much of the 90's image stuff made me want to throw myself off a cliff but early Spawn was decent. I found it really got bad after issue 100 or so and I gave up around the 150's.

Also, thanks to @Paul (GG) © ® ™⚽️💙 for putting this together. I came up with a way to search and find the images, just a little too late. If anything, my curiosity is now piqued to go check out the gold section of this forum and read that thread.

This is incredibly sad news, that is way too young. My condolences to his family.

The biggest was not being able to finish my ASM run until after 2019. I was down to 5 early issues and while I didn't pay top of market for any, I paid a lot more than if I had been able to pull the trigger in that time frame. Some FF issues I'm kicking myself for, especially 94. I passed on at least 3 opportunities to get nice copies for dirt cheap as I thought they were "over priced" and then I pulled the trigger on a decent copy during the hype . I can only hope the Agatha series will actually be good. Anything Doom has jumped a lot too.

Ebb and flow of collecting when life gets in the way (for all the right reasons). I didn't buy a single back issue from the end of 2014 to 2019 as my daughter was in college. I'm making up for it now.

I disagree with this. Maybe some behind the scenes would choose to turn a blind eye (cool books as we all know ) but I think the mainstream opinion against HOS offenders is pretty much hell no...

I don't know Chip and those events occured during a time away from the boards for me. I do know it takes some serious action to get yourself on the HOS and even more special behavior over a long period of time to even be considered worthy of a discussion of removal. Nothing to stop him from posting here, and hopefully he will as it seems as he has things to contribute. Over time this could be revisited but IMO, much too soon.

Hard to put set rule on this as it depends on what grade you are willing to accept as your "basement" and era/genre you are interested in. For me, I look for VF or better in Bronze and F or better in Silver. I'm willing to sacrifice on grade for keys, more so in silver. Cost wise, I just try and be educated and look for deals around 20 - 30% under "guide" if at all possible. With patience you can usually find some good deals to fill runs on most non-keys.

Congrats I'm a proud owner of a full run of this as well and one of the best Spidey series out there.
