  1. Dan sold me a sweet Journey into Mystery 85 (1st Loki!).

Communication was great and he had no issues shipping the comic to Canada. The CGC case was well-packed and protected and shipped the day after payment!

Thanks again Dan. Love this comic!

  2. I always loved The Unexpected, as a kid it had one of those logos that grabbed your eye on the comic rack. I've been trying to keep my eye open for a nice copy of 122 for years (my favorite cover) but never seem to have any luck.

I've only seen one maybe two for sale in 13+ years. This is my only copy.

BTW, I agree with you on the late silver/early bronze titles had the "pop" both in terms of the new logo design/size and darker color palette. Having awesome cover artists during this time didn't hurt either.

Amazing comic (is there a drool emoticon?). I knew if anyone was going to have a knockout copy it would be you (Sterlingcomics, right?).

Way to keep the BA horror flag flying! These books are definitely underappreciated!

    and Vol 2

I have all of the Gerbers and enjoy poring through their pages, but I'd love to see these visually-striking covers get the Taschen treatment with full-size reproductions collected in a book exclusively focused on Golden Age GGA (just like this thread). :cloud9:

I'm finding it hard to tear my eyes away from all of these amazing headlight covers (the female variety - not the mechanical), and I think it's saying something in this age of sexually explicit TV and basically unlimited online porn that these images from post-war America are still so...captivating.

I can only imagine what it must have been like being a teenage boy in 1948 and seeing that Corliss Archer cover high-beaming you from the comic rack! Probably why it's so hard to find any in high grade - they were all hidden under the mattress.

Has there ever been a book printed that collected all of these great GGA covers? I know I'd buy a copy!
