I don't have any problems with them. In addition to being great readers I bet they would look sweet framed and up on a wall, especially some of those Good Girl covers

My comic interests are all over the map, with different grade desires for each area. For instance, I recently grabbed an issue of What if? Planet Hulk #1 because I think Skaar is a cool character. The comic is only ten years old. I wanted it in NM+ condition and that's what I found.
I also collect a subset of Harvey/Richie Rich comics from the seventies. I want these in at least VF/NM or better because every time I see them they unlock a treasure trove of childhood memories and I like them to look as if I just grabbed them off the comic rack (I doubt many books on the spinner rack were NM+ the way we would spin that thing and fight over them).
Finally, I have recently got into collecting Graham "Ghastly" Ingels Haunt of Fear covers. While I want these to be decently centered and hopefully clean of writing/marks, I actually prefer them to be down in the VG/FN range. The creases and folds to me are like a fine patina, reminders of an age when comics were bought to be read, not encased in acrylic, and when I look at them I can almost picture a kid in the fifties poring over the pages beneath his sheets with an Eveready flashlight, scared out of his wits!

I see that Patz took stuff, and brought it back to Carbos booth. Maybe I missed it but was it stated that Mike was present in the booth?
Guilty by association, apparently.
I'm no lawyer and I have never had any dealings with any of these individuals, but it is my understanding that no one was found guilty of anything.
Patz was accused of and charged with both grand larceny and possession of stolen property, but accepted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal of all charges. This is not a conviction, per the interweb:
An ACD is not a guilty plea or an admission of guilt. The law is clear: "The granting of an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal shall not be deemed to be a conviction or an admission of guilt." N.Y. Criminal Procedure Law 150.55(8).
Additionally, none of the other individuals accused of being participants in the so-called "booth raid" were charged with any crimes.
NYCC has given these individuals a lifetime ban, that is a fact. But the assumption (and discussion) that they are guilty of criminal actions only one of them was charged with and none of them was convicted of, is doing them a disservice.
That is probably why the other thread was deleted.

To be digging through socks in my antique dresser and realize there is a comic hidden beneath the old drawer liner. Nothing fancy...maybe a More Fun #52 that looks like it just came off the newsstand?

Matt was easy to work with to get a deal done. Great communication and lightning fast payment!

After bronze everything was labeled Modern. But too many decades passed so Copper was born. Clearly, as even more time has elapsed and -- NEWSFLASH -- will continue to fly by, we just need to follow the progression to an even cheaper metal..
The Rust Age

The tear brings it down to a VG/FN for me also, but it's in beautiful condition for a book of that vintage

Worthless Age?
Overpriced Age?
Overproduced Age?
Overproduced? Aren't the print runs today far less than they were in the Golden and Silver Ages? Or maybe you mean in relation to demand...
Maybe it should be called the Age of Speculation (much like the baseball card bubble in the 1990s).

No artist captures the action of the old west better than John Severin, nice pickup!

One of the all-time greats! Berni, if you're reading this, get well soon so you can start enjoying a well-deserved retirement (with what sounds to be a wonderful family) for many, many years to come!

speaking of Neal Adams batman, can someone recommend a collection (TPB or HC) that has all these classic stories? (and I don't mean the batman Omnibus that has all the new fancy digital coloring) I want the original color printing! I want to read them all now that I've seen all these amazing covers!
Here are some cheaper options, I'm not a fan of the new coloring either, but if you don't mind b&w(I love it) Showcase vol 5 collects a ton of great issues.
I have that Showcase and it has some great reading material and eye candy (Talia ) . The black and white reprints didn't bother me nearly as much as the jarring difference in quality between the Neal Adams stories and the terrible Frank Robbins tales that follow them...

You do not seem to take into account just placing them one over each other will end up cracking multiple CGC cases with the pressure (I know I have done this myself in the past). I only do so now if the comic has a CGC Pro slab to protect each book. That will cut the amount of books yo ucan place in one single safe but at least your CGC cases will not be damaged.
In another thread a poster recommended storing CGC slabs on their side (spine side down). I don't know if this will work with your SDB, but it should prevent any problem with cases cracking.

I snagged two Haunt of Fears for my Graham "Ghastly" Ingels HOF run. I love the well-loved ECs, they have a look to them that almost makes me picture some kid in the fifties, scared out of his wits as he hid in his bedroom and read them beneath the blankets!

Win.
Congrats Ed! Hopefully you need to unload some of your Haunt of Fears to pay for it

Life-size statues always give me the creeps. I must have watched too many Twilight Zone episodes as a kid, but I would imagine myself being awakened in the dark of night by the sound of the bedroom door slowly creaking open, only to see the silhouette of the spider-mannequin standing in the doorway...
Other than that, fantastic room!
