Cross off another one from the top of my want list

There were several reasons. When I started collecting Cole covers my goal was to have a complete high grade set of all the Star books. After 11 years I only had 6 of the romance books and I realized that I would never have all of them. It also seemed like someone else wanted them a little more than I did. Whenever a nice copy would show up I was always the under bidder. The last reason was the cost of the pch books on my want list keep going up and I just couldn't afford to collect everything. Of course now that they are gone I wish I had kept them!

This is a unpublished cover proof. The artwork was later used on True to Life Romances 5. It may be one of a kind but a lot of the Star cover proofs had multiple copies.

Here's a few Star romance books. Unfortunately, I gave up on collecting them recently so all I have left are the last 2.

I ended up with 3 wins and several near misses!

I usually only collect pch books but I've always loved Four Favorites and Super Mystery. I really wanted the Four Favorites 10 but it went for double what I bid. Tonight I managed to win my 2 favorite issues of Super Mystery

Still need a 55 and 58.

Just got this one today! Another one that is very hard to find in nice shape.

After striking out on the last Heritage auction I did a little better on clink. Here's my 4 wins plus a couple more new additions.

This thread really is dead. Where have all the Cole collectors gone? Here's one I'm super excited to add to my collection. This is the only high grade copy I have ever seen so when it popped up on eBay I had to have it. It had a crazy buy it now price with best offer. I made an offer and sweated it out for about an hour before it was accepted

Sold for $2350 Maybe that will bring the 8.0 Cosmic Aeroplane copy to market
