  1. Sale on all art! 20% off all pieces under 10k 10% off all pieces over 10k https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=13897
  2. Collectinsure is who I use. No need for appraisals or full inventory lists. You need to make sure to keep proof of ownership. Any individual items valued at 25k or more need to be listed.
  3. I also post less on caf now due to how toxic the hobby has become. Some new collectors seem to have a sense of entitlement due to their spending power or having purchased the latest hot book/artist. I enjoy the art for what it is. But if a community is causing you to question why you’re collecting, it’s better to step away from it.
  4. Attended on Thursday. Picked up mostly pieces that were arranged or paid for months ago. An interesting observation in artist alley. About 25-30% of artists set up were completely digital. No originals, prints only. I wonder if this will become the new norm in the future. Crowds were lighter on Thursday and it was easy to move around artist alley and the show floor. Some good pieces for sale on the floor at high prices as usual. Many collectors I heard murmuring about prices being too high and not being able to afford what they love. The hobby has priced out many sadly.
  5. This was available for 300k I saw many pieces that were in auctions the last year on dealer tables/walls at 50-100% over the last sale. This seems to be the norm. My favorite pieces were bought from artists.
  6. What has crashed are cards that were overly inflated. The blue chips like the 52 Mantle, Ruth, Cobb etc are still strong.
  7. He has taken paypal from me in the past. But I do recall he had a card reader at NYCC a few years ago.
  8. FYI about Ebay buyer moonshine560. Went back and forth for days making offers on a cgc book I had listed. Eventually came back with a lower offer than I said I would accept (of course). Since it seemed he wanted the book I accepted. He received it, and was not happy because the slab had newtons rings. I told him this is a slab issue. He ended up filing for a return. With ebay shipping etc I am out $40 for shipping to him and return shipping.
  9. He is one of the nicest creators you will meet! Get there early, his list fills up fast. He usually will offer quicker ink head sketches, and more elaborate painted pieces. Painted pieces start at $400. He often has some predone pieces for sale as well.

  11. Fedex has always been more expensive, but in my experience the safest option. For anything high value, I would not ship any other way.
  12. Here is an interesting comment. The reality is that many big dealers treat customers like trash, and it is fully acceptable. Why? Because demand far exceeds supply. Honestly speaking, if someone treats me like that, I bite right back. There is no excuse for it. And lets be honest. We are guilty of going back to to those dealers when they have something we want. If it bothered enough people that their business was impacted, this type of behavior would stop across the board.
  13. Behcara, Anthony, Moy, Comic Connect, and possibly Will Gabriel.
  14. Tales of Suspense 72 page by Don Heck circa 1965 for sale! Has not been on the market in many years. Message here or via caf if interested. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1843572
  15. That’s exactly where it’s going. And this info is known by many but hasn’t stopped us from bidding During his buying spree the price for all covers sold by the artist jumped. And many coveted covers have not been seen until now. While prices on the current covers have come back to earth due to the money train being exhausted, the classic covers still get a decent amount at auction. Win-win for everyone except Stan and collectors who hope to get these at any reasonable figure.
  16. That’s because his money paid for them.
  17. I’m so glad you and your family are safe. As collectors this is the thing of nightmares. If we can help in any way, please don’t hesitate.
  18. My post office is also doing this. They left a registered package on my porch last week with no signature obtained.
  19. I had some non key books in heritage this weekend. They were all 25-50% below what I had expected. Would have rather kept them.
  20. If it’s unpublished I think it’s easy 10-12k. If published 25k+.
