  1. I can tell the difference between a 9.6 and a 9.8 - although sometimes, CGC can't. -slym (stupid 9.6 Sabrina Midtown JSC cover variant...)
  2. Wait till you read TPB 3... game changer! +1 I had the same reaction. The 3rd trade is where it picks up. In my opinion, the first 13 issues are the true 1st arc. It's a shame the early trades are only 4 issues. Whenever I've given this series to people to try, I always give them the 1st Hardcover that has issues 1-13. (thumbs u Nice - I am going to the library tomorrow! -slym
  3. Honest question - does it (or any new Marvel comic) say "Stan Lee presents..." on the title page? I actually just checked my Silk #1, and it does not. But if a comic does have that blurb, even if he had nothing else to do with it, then his signature is not out of place on a book, IMHO. -slym
  4. That's the most I've ever stated as well IIRC. Typically I just say NM-/NM or better. People are usually pleasantly surprised. I will say "at least 9.6" at the most, although one time I did say "if there was ever a 9.8 candidate, this comic is it" - because it really was an easy 9.8. I do wonder what it takes to get 9.9s... I have had a couple of absolutely immaculate comics come back as 9.8s. I am pretty good at grading the UHG stuff because IMHO, those are the easiest to grade. But a couple were, literally, immaculate. Corners sharp enough to draw blood with, no creases, no colour-breaking anything... the only thing is possibly something showing up under UV light. But I have yet to get a 9.9. I think CGC is a little protective of that and the 10 grade. -slym
  5. I just got done reading the first two trades of Invincible, I really like it! A nice superhero story with Kirkman's signature on it. It was weird, seeing Ryan Ottley's art looking almost exactly like Corey Walker's in issue 8. I look forward to reading more, and seeing Ottley come into his own as an artist, as I have the next three trades waiting for me to pick up at the library. I'd rate this book an easy 8.5/10 -slym
  6. That may be true, but I am not even thinking of selling it until it is worth the same price raw. -slym
  7. I just logged on and right off the bat I find one of the dumbest things I've ever seen posted. I went looking for some context that changed the meaning of that statement in his post, and found none. -slym
  8. I bought my first Rai #3 for $65, before it became a $100+ book. I still have that copy, and refuse to sell it until it becomes worth at least that again. -slym
  9. Yep - 3 months, at least. I am not joking. -slym
  10. Didnt really understand this. She had one eye. Fish has one i in it. Seems like that would have been the best time to call her Fish. She was Fish Mooney when she had two eyes. When she was missing an eye, she was Fsh. See? MISSING AN EYE... FSH MOONEY... -slym
  11. To be fair, GPA is what someone else paid for the book -- not something writ in stone from the mount. Higher prices happen because someone pays a higher price. True enough, though it appears it won't happen in this particular case! unless someone pops it on Clink for $1650 Exact same book? :: -slym

  13. Alfred getting stabbed was just to weaken kid-Bruce. His corporate officers didn't like him sticking his nose in "their" business. That was explained & alluded to this past episode. Alfred's buddy wasn't just stealing silver candlesticks, he stole some of Bruce's paperwork, and now with Alfred sidelined, the corporates think Bruce is weakened & an easy target. I think everyone knows how I feel about Fsh Mooney, however. -slym (can't really call her Fsh anymore, she has both eyes again - dammit!)
  14. Another great episode, aside from the Fsh Mooney story. I just don't care about her, her plight, or any of those people. But yeah, Gordon is a badass! -slym
  15. Expedited shipping means 2-5 business days, so I am still meeting my quota. Even so I doubt anyone of us would be butthurt about paying on Friday and then shipping out on Monday Morning. IMO super unreasonable. How can any buyer be upset about getting their item less than a week after payment is beyond me. Oh I am sure it is an instant younger d-bag. TT #2 is right off the Arrow crowd. Watch him be like 50 years old haha -slym
  16. I didnt see the show yet.....who do you think will die? Well, the priest was just on the show, so I can't see it being him... how about Morgan? No, there's still some story there, it seems, unless that story wraps up next week. Otherwise, I don't really know... maybe Noah? -slym
  17. I wonder if he's younger, one of the "instant gratification" crowd... but hey, if your auction didn't have a 1-day handling time listed, then he needs to get a grip on himself. Maybe he needs to be reminded of that, if he keeps pressing you about it. -slym
