Overstreet lists are based on 9.2 raw pricing, not slab prices or CGC census data. I'm sure someone with a GPA subscription could re-sort for graded books. Your other comments further my point on value not always being equivalent to significance. There are definitely a lot of FF 48s floating around, which helps to keep the price in check. Popular books like FF 45 & 52 have benefitted recently from TV and movie hype, and ASM 28 has the "Scarce in high grade due to black cover" mystique. There is no way that the first appearance of Molten Man makes a top 100 list of significance, but there sits its guide value for other reasons.

I enjoyed reading Ms. Tree comics in the early-mid 80s (as a departure from capes and spandex), but I had no idea that she first appeared in magazines. Eclipse Magazine #6 (#1 is her first app.).

Depends on what you buy & why you buy. If you grew up reading Star Wars or Kirby Fourth-World titles, there may not be as big a desire to venture into Silver and prior, as these storylines didn't exist before the Bronze age. If you grew up on mainstream superheroes from the Big Two, I think the desire is increased dramatically (regardless of budgetary concerns), as the stories are from the same continuity. If you buy for investment, Bronze offers a (relatively) lower entry point & potential for the 'next big thing'. Silver will cost you, but the growth is (presumably) 'guaranteed'.
