    All right then look for widening in the holes where the staples go. It isn't tight after you take out and replace staples, although I'm sure they're working on it.

    Usually there's rust migration on the paper. If the staple looks clean with rust on paper around it, that's a clue. A friend asked me my opinion on a book he had on loan from the dealer. I looked and said the one staple (Timely) had been replaced. He bought it, got it graded, and it came back staple replaced. He returned it to the dealer.

    That's why staple replacement is considered conservation rather than restoration. It keeps the book from deteriorating.

    Hey Will, ppl looking to fill runs I suppose, or the classic cover crowd. Rare + classic cover = big $$. It doesn't hurt it's not a bad looking copy for the grade.

    I think he meant swipe. Homage means you are respecting the original and your audience knows the source. Here is some hack knocking off a page and using another artist as reference.

    I saw a low grade copy of this go for $$$ on the boards, so I thought I'd post my copy, which may be my first Baker.

    Except all the vignettes are the same image in almost time lapsed photography. Baker had different scenes flashing around the central image.

    When I see those boxes it makes me think I'm at a show. Imagine going through a dealer's boxes and finding nothing but romance.

    You gave yourself a lofty goal, much harder than getting all the Timely's, which is mostly about money. At least you didn't have to jostle with Marvel collectors at shows.

    That Falling in Love 99 is stunning. Savannah must really helped out your collection. I have a low grade 103 that came from my sister's collection.

    I love it when you shed light on the heretofor unheralded artists. Nobody knew this man? He was the house style. The examples you show are exquisite.

    Someone should get that painting slabbed. Seriously, for once Lichtenstein was fairly close to the original. In so many cases his work looks like a cheap copy, although I still like it. He certainly found his niche.
