  1. With that big chip off the right corner? Congratulations.
  2. So cgc no longer lists detached cover on the label. Too bad.
  3. I was bidding on the TaR 25, figuring I'd go to just under $2K. This would be an upgrade. Yes, the final amount shocked me, especially since it was 6.0 and not the highest graded. Is this the new normal for rarely seen Baker books? And this one is tough. But if you find a few ppl looking to finish runs and they are dedicated and have the money, this is what happens. Would this occur if the next one shows up? The DS 21 is also a head scratcher. Tough book, highest graded but has little eye appeal since it's quite faded. Also looks less than 6.0. Easier to find than the 25 in my travels, which may explain why it didn't go for $3K. I credit Ha with really bringing home the bacon.
  4. I have to go out, but I'm working on my thesis.
  5. They look nice. What are the average grades?
  6. Just came across this thread. Watched all episodes as they came out and I thought it was the most creative use of television I've ever seen. Brilliant, visually stunning. Perplexing but still accessible. I highly recommend the doc David Lynch: A Life in Art.
  7. Holy krap, she's naked. Where's my copy?
  8. My copy of APC 10. Their faces were my first avatar on the boards.
  9. I have never seen a Baker Flamingo drawing that wasn't impressive.
  10. Yes but mis-identifying the artist may be seen as fraud. They can protest ignorance, but they've already received messages doubting its authenticity. Art is sometimes hard to identify, but not in this case.
  11. Thanks Will. A world of difference.
  12. Alright here's one of my OA's. To me there's a world of difference between this and the promotion piece.
  13. The faces aren't Baker, and the figures look stiff. I own several Flamingo dailies and you can tell, especially if you've looked at them for years the way I have.
  14. Looks like this is in the new Signature. Except it's obviously Thorton. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/illustrations/matt-baker-flamingo-comic-strip-promotional-illustration-original-art-phoenix-features-c-1952-/a/7169-93023.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116
  15. It stands out because there's no sexual tension. They're married and the thrill is gone. He's spent and sound asleep. She's unhappy. Romantic Marriage is almost an oxymoron. That being said, it's still a great cover.
  16. I'm in Toronto and Memory Lane was the first comic store I ever entered. My parents were scared to let me go in. Bought my first back issues there. I know a lot about George's history, not all of it good. His store is slated for demolition now on a street that has great row houses. As an adult I'm be in the second floor of a favourite restaurant across the road, and look out the window at the store, now a dress shop.
