  1. por vous This book is oversized, and virtually every copy I've seen has damage at the top 1/4 inch. This is the nicest one I've seen, although Harley had a pretty nice one a year ago or so.
  2. And my other collecting love, flamethrower covers. I love these things. It all started with War Comics 11. I was friends with Bruce Ellsworth when he found the Salida collection. I went up to Santa Fe to hang out, and he had several lying around the house. I found a few I liked, and then just sitting on his kitchen table was War 11. I was floored. I had to have it, and he sold it to me for cheap. I paraded it around and took it to SD with me because of the Big 5 war dinner. Unfortunately, SD made me a little cash poor and in a moment of weakness I sold it (for an insane multiple of guide). As soon as it left my hands I knew I had done the wrong thing - and I've regretted it ever since. It's a book that has to be seen in person to be appreciated. Structurally around an 8.5, but blinding white pages and brilliant inks & gloss. adamstrange has seen it and can attest to its beauty. I now have 4 other copies of it, and none of them approach the Salida. If anyone has a copy in FN or better (or even nice lower grades) please PM me. These books - for the most part - have flamethrowers on the covers. Lots of burning Koreans. There are a couple (US Marines #8, Four Favorites #10) that have gatling guns eviscerating people, and I thought they fit in with the general theme. Enjoy!
  3. Alright, I finally got off my lazy duff to take a few pics. Here's one that's been requested. All my Centaurs (except one that's involved in a trade with someone ). My long term goal is to finish out the run of AMF from 1-v2n6. After that, I may buy a few, but they lose their appeal. Like a insufficiently_thoughtful_person, I sold/traded my 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 years ago and haven't seen another copy since. If you get any of those, please PM me!!! Anyway, here is the 1st app of the Arrow, and all of his subsequent cover appearances. IMHO the 40 & 41 are far rarer than the v4n1.
  4. Nice What kind of inventory software do you use to track your comics?
  5. Unbelievable That's by far the nicest copy of that book I've ever seen. (The TOS isn't chopped liver either!)
  6. I LOVE that book. I've never seen one in person.
  7. This one falls clearly outside the "gem" category.
  8. I can't get past your avatar. "Say car ramrod!"
  9. Hell, I could have told you that and saved you the time.

  12. Here's my copy. Definitely Hitler. Far and away the toughest of the run.
  13. White pages High gloss Russ Heath foxing
  14. I aims ta please. I accidentally bought a double of that one - I think that copy actually had the nicer gloss. They were technically identical, so just closed my eyes and kept one.
  15. I think this is one of those books that can slip below the radar now and then. I bought a VG+ (advertised as a VG/F - close enough) copy thru the old Comic Source magazine about 10 years ago for $20, and it had been listed for at least two issues when I decided to buy it. A few months later I'm hearing prices of $75 and up for a copy in VGish shape. Over the top war stories inside too. The little devil arrived today Let's see now, Horrific #3 is $112 in vg and came out around January 1953 or so. This War Fury #1 issue with the first bullet in head image that was then taken for Horrific #3 came out in September 1952 and guides for $54 in VG. Go figure. Both books are typical over guide books. About 8 years ago, a friend and I discovered that this was the book from which the Horrific 3 image was taken and we rushed off to find copies. I bought a beautiful VFNM that had brown inside covers and tan-brown paper. I sold it for $150 thinking I was making a killing (I think top guide was $50 or so). One of those "I wish I had it back" moments.
  16. And a white paged, Russ Heath western to finish things off.
  17. More frogmen. The scan doesn't do it justice.
