  1. I don't buy into the whole PS 14 issue, but what do I know? I still love the series. Here's my HOM 179. White pages to boot Took me 8 years to find one like this.
  2. You have a scan? my scanner blows, but i'll have someone at the office scan it thursday and i'll post it thursday night. i suck at this - something sterling can testify to - so many apologies if the scan's too big, etc. there are actually 2 pacific coast copies of HOS 81, both in 9.4 though. I was satisfied with my nice 8.0. Can't wait to see it. Do you have a nice House of Mystery 179 too? I'd be interested to see what Sterling's and others' HOM 179 are like. I've got a pretty sharp raw copy, but probably only in the 9.0-9.2 range. I've never seen a nicer copy.
  3. The 9.6 stuff is getting STUPID prices, but the 9.4 seems to have settled down quite a bit. I picked up one of the OAAWs for about 1/2 of what I expected it to go for.
  4. I can think of a number of better ways to spend $475... Or $573 for that matter.
  5. The first story is, it's by (I think) the same artist as the cover. The guy's name is Louis Rivelli. I've never heard of him before. The rest of the book is stock Avon stuff, which isn't bad - but isn't worth writing home about.
  6. Pretty borderline to squeeze this into the SA, but it is a 10 center. Great washtone reminiscent of some WWII books (eg Terrific 4, and a lot of Schomburg stuff)
  7. Kinda weird that john72tex picked up one of these too, but this was at the LCS and is a legit 9.4 - too nice to pass up. Andru/Esposito
  8. Great copy! Looks like the colors are strong.
  9. Thanks! It's Salida quality - I was VERY pleased.
  10. This is issue #2, and this copy has newsstand gloss & colors and blinding white pages - which just makes the Heath art that much better
  11. Just got these 2 in, and they're definitely worth posting. 1st is Battle #10. White pages and a great splash page to boot.
  12. I have a beater, for some reason I like the other issues before and after Deadman more? Some day I'll go for them, but I'm not willing to commit the $$ at current.
  13. The cover character here refers to himself as the "Patchwork Man", who later was introduced in HOS 140.
