  1. Yeah. I didn't expect them to last, nor did most people. They were in it for the money while it was easy to do so. Now it's back to more collectors.
  2. I don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes. On one hand, they're good for business, and sales are sales. But if they were beating me up on prices, that would be really bothersome. I would imagine that it's mostly tact/personality that gets to you over time.
  3. It's wild to me that a page like this will dance around 5 figures, but really killer SA stuff goes for half this. I guess it's someone just wanting 'a' 90s era Lee/Williams piece.
  4. At least 39,999 of them are great and positive posts. You're a legend jimbo, and a blessing to the community.
  5. This series made me lose compassion for the writer's strike. The writers for this show should have to pay back money.
  6. Yup. It's like a certificate of authenticity. So many of them are made after the fact to try and pass a fake.
  7. Adding to the confusion, GCD has it as Toth pencils and Sy Barry inks. Was this at a time when DC (Kanigher should have been in charge of the All American line, but maybe Schwartz) was keeping records? @adamstrange
  8. Early prediction, it's going to be DC centric. The War Report has been overtly focused on DC at the cost of addressing anything else with any relevance.
  9. 10 years ago you would have been laughed out of the room if you suggested Chamber of Chills 19 would ever make this list.
  10. Did someone buy the entire collection? Is PBA selling it whole?
  11. Those do look similar, but my main concern was about the flustered linework. Also, Bob Kane was a terrible artist.
  12. I see huge red flags with the piece you bought. The lines are unsteady, often a tell of a fake. Look at the top of Batman's head, the hatching on his forehead, and Robin's browline. None of the long lines look like they were drawn in one singular motion. Comparing it to the other examples, the framing/shading of Batman's cheek is unlike the others, using horizontal lines instead of a single vertical line. There is similar shading on Batman's ears that isn't seen on the others.
  13. Ian, in your quest do you feel that there is a series that was more difficult than any other? Not necessarily individual issues, but overall as an entire run, which one was the most difficult to find. Thanks.
  14. Thanks! I love Joe Sinnott in that era. He did some really great stuff. I'm glad to get it!
  15. Gotcha, that wasn't coyness, it was not wanting to make an incorrect assumption or statement. I know it's a large number, but rather than throw around speculation... Fair, but that still is a very different thing than "breaking" them. I don't know. And similar to my statement about CGC, I won't speak for them. That would be a good question for you to ask them to get a better understanding of this process. I'm guessing you aren't a business owner? There's a fixed cost to running your business, and once you meet that cost, everything else is profit. You're already paying people to find, grade, document, list, scan, etc. Whether you have 10 books or 40,000 books, that cost is the same. So better to sell 40,000 books. I guarantee you every auction house would want this collection.
