  1. A thread that needed to be created. A lot of these don't fit well in either the GA or SA.
  2. He admitted that he wasn't comfortable drawing faces.
  3. Go back a couple of pages for the comments, but they've been going on here for the entirety of my 2 decades on the boards.
  4. Re: the comments that the people at the convention are all 35-50. That's been true of every show I've gone to over the past 30 years, because the collecting demographic is that age (well really more 35-65). Trying to draw conclusions about a lack of people in their teens and 20s is silly.
  5. That's frustrating. I'm using an HP 8200 series and have a similar issue with red, blue, and yellow, but only when that's the dominant color on the cover. I was considering the Plustek, but doesn't seem like it's the cure.
  6. Which scanner did you go with? I loved your old scans.
  7. But if you're a Batman collector and trying to get the best you can, those other options aren't what you're after so why would you buy those? It's like saying that a guy who wants a Ferrari should buy a Honda Civic.
  8. Yeah, but it's all bidding. If your strategy on Clink is to "set it and forget it", you can do the same on Heritage. Most of the action on Clink doesn't happen until the last few minutes, which is kind of the same as HA.
  9. You do realize that you can bid any time on Heritage?
  10. One of the guys I work with had this happen to him from DIA. The criminal was not a bright guy (he had been wanted for a few break-ins in your neck of the woods) and when he got caught he listed his profession as "heroin dealer".
  11. Most likely a combination of both. The flding on the clothing is very Fine-esque, but the layout and monster are more Eisnerish. If I had to guess I'd say Eisner background and layout, Fine finishes on the characters.
  12. I had a book on HA that wasn't paid for and it was either noted as not paid or removed from the archive. I don't recall which, but it is made clear.
  13. If a book can't be graded from a scan then this thread should stop, but that's not the case. That's true in some cases, and not in others. Just like some Promise books were overgraded and some were undergraded. Both things can be true, but no universal rule applies.
  14. It's only fair to imply things that you believe, but weren't stated? I'm not following this logic. Feel free to assume implications in what you say, but don't put words in my mouth.
