  1. Well he did say "one of the best", which could be inclusive of all of them.
  2. Bought a Magnus 1, smooth problem free transaction.
  3. As a limited series it might have been done to get people to buy the first issues in the hope that they would stay for the whole series.
  4. Thanks Scott, I should have just asked you in the first place Good to see you back!
  5. Tape's pretty obvious. You should be happy you got to return it.
  6. Coming back to the cover on this one. I think it's Maneely with Burgos. The gal at the bottom has the Maneely mouth, but Burgos was apt to add his touches after the code as he was the art director. Basically that means he puritanized it and added chicken scratch shading all over the place. Doc V has a running list of these that's really interesting to see the before and after. http://timely-atlas-comics.blogspot.com/2016/10/atlas-errata-cover-alterations-and.html?m=1 How's that for a delayed reply @Robot Man?
  7. Weird. The stamp is pretty different, but they are pretty nice copies. Maybe I'll email Mark and ask him.
  8. Bingeing through this thread. I have 2 beautiful early war books with this same T stamp. I wonder how many more there are?
  9. "social distancing" post of the day. I wanted to share this cover due to it being one of my favorite Maneely's. I'll be honest, he's not my favorite Atlas artist. I definitely appreciate him, but I don't seek him out as much as others. That being said, wow did he knock it out of the park on this one. The colors and the big hammer and sickle just add to the awesomeness. Flipping through it, I saw an artist I didn't recognize, Tom Scheuer. Turns out he did a number of jobs for Atlas, but most of them were in romance or text illustrations. He did a handful of war stories, all in this title. As you can see, the art is pretty outstanding with clean linework and well laid out panels. I looked into Scheuer and he's still around and switched to writing Hollywood scripts. I wonder if he would be willing to talk about his time at Atlas?
  10. A date stamp would run contrary to it being a file copy as that means it probably went to a newsstand/vendor who stamped it.
  11. Then it's only 25% over FMV and 2 grades lower than described!
  12. Let me know when you're ready to trade, you know what I like
