  1. Tacky to quote myself, but a'yup. Just saw the trailer, and Bishop's clearly in it. So much for scooping up another dozen copies of X-Men 282-283...
  2. Or Cable could just be in the movie, extended cameo or no. If memory serves, both Cable and Bishop appeared in the two-part "Days of Future Past" adaptation back in the 90s X-Men cartoon. If I were Singer, I'd split the story in two and end on a cliffhanger, a la the comics, perhaps introducing Apocalypse, etc. at the end. Guess we'll know more later this week when the first trailer drops.
  3. I think I'm the only person on the planet who cares that the Ninjak cancellation left the story unfinished...
  4. Note--LoneStar's the seller of that 8.5, so it'd be cheaper to buy it from their website.
  5. I just checked on Comichron, and was wrong. Turok outsold every Marcel title in 1965, but it was the Gold Key Tarzan that outsold ASM until 1969. Superman family titles were the top sellers through the '60s.
  6. Also, Turok was outselling most Marvel comics (including, I believe, ASM) until 1967.
  7. Some _great_ finds yesterday with suburban DC yard sales. Included a NM run of The 'Nam 1-49 (with triples of 1-3) for $40. Marvel Premiere # 1 (VG): $.25 Tales to Astonish # 93 (Fair): $.25. Tales to Astonish 99-101 (VG) $.50 ea. Dark Knight Returns trade $.25. Action Comics # 348 (VG) $.75 Predator # 2-4 (NM) $.75 ea.
  8. Not a blast cover, but my understanding is the first technical "atom bomb" cover was Terry Toons # 39 (second appearance of Mighty Mouse), with a December 1945 cover date.
  9. The presence of Dell File copies likely wouldn't impact the number of 9.8 Turoks on the census at all, as most of the file copies for other titles grade out in 9.0-9.4 range.
  10. Is Man Bat still around? Seems like, if not, someone should bring him back--like when Josh Whedon brought back the small dragon sprite character in Astonishing X-Men 1. Anyone know what happened to Man Bat and Ace the Bathound? I mean, I hope Ace is dead by now (dog years and all), but did they ever send him off properly?
  11. It pays to _read_ the comics, not just "marvel" at the covers. Not Marvel, but another example is World's Finest 173. Batman gets turned into Two Face, which would have made it Two Face's first (and only) SA appearance. But it's not Harvey Dent so it doesn't count. I believe Overstreets gets this right. End result = no SA Two Face appearances; his first appearance since the Golden Age (and like, 6th overall) is Bats 234.
  12. Reynolds can do serious just fine. See "Definitely, Maybe" and "Safe House." Green Lantern's fault lay far more with the writing and the character itself than with his performance, although I would have preferred an actor 10 years older in the role.
  13. Gorgeous! So...how many copies do you have total? Just the 7 showing, or a bunch more too?
  14. My Ticks will probably be the last ones I sell. Set of 1-12 includes: SE # 1, CGC 9.4; SE # 2, CGC 9.6, CGC 9.4, CGC 9.2; # 1 (black), cgc 9.2; # 1 (raw--signed by Edlund); and # 2 (uncut, CGC 9.0 Sig Series--thanks to PeasofCrap! ) Someday I will snag some of the NEC newsletters. Someday.
  15. But really, its X-men 256 or 257 (I forget which), where Mandarin turns her from 2nd-tier British chick with frumpy pink outfit & cloak to bad- Jim Lee-drawn Asian ninja assassin.
  16. In case y'all haven't heard by now, rumor has it the -script to Justice League has been scrapped, so it looks like the film's on hold for now. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Three-Reasons-Justice-League-Movie-Won-t-Open-2015-Or-Probably-Ever-35636.html
  17. Since we're on the topic, here are my copies of Smilin' Jack # 4, 5 and 8:
  18. That Atoman's cool--looks like he could be the direct inspiration for "Radioactive Man" from The Simpsons, and with Jerry Robinson art to boot! Also _love_ the Terry Toons 38 and nominate it for grading. I have a copy that's in the 4.0-5.0 range that I'm planning to send in shortly. And 'Tec 168's one of my favorite Batman stories--I read it in a reprint volume called Batman: From the 30s to the 70s, and I believe it influenced the current origin of the Joker that was presented about 20 years ago in "The Killing Joke."
  19. I don't understand why Daredevil 111 is a surprise. I'm the jerk went and bought five HG copies five years ago on the assumption that Silver Samurai would be the villain in the first solo Wolverine flick (oops!) What I discovered is that it was fairly hard to find even then, and I never even managed a CGC 9.6 or 9.8. Paid what I considered a very strong $55 for a CGC 9.4. I just assumed that all the dealers were thinking along my lines and had sucked up the copies then--so I just figured folks here would be rolling in them by now--having bought up the copies before little ol' me got to them.
  20. My first issue off the stands was # 252 with Silvestri art and The Reavers. Didn't really understand it with the whole Gateway/portal/they all died during Fall of the Mutants thing. but I eventually backtracked to 94. Post-Byrne, I loved 186, the early 200s leading to the Mutant Massacre, Fall of the Mutants and even the Xtinction Agenda. It jumped the shark right before 300 with X-cutioner's song, which was something like 16 parts and polybagged. And 300 was my last issue, with its god awful JRJR foil cover. Never really read beyond that, and so glad I missed the Joe Madueira Manga days.
  21. I don't get it. Didn't they already get together as far back as Action 600?
  22. Somebody got a great deal on the CGC 5.5 World's Finest # 3 (first Scarecrow). Sold for well 10% under the last 5.5 sale, and well below the last 4.0 sale as well.
  23. It never even occurred to me that MCP 175 might be valuable because it's the last issue. I think I have a few somewhere. And ditto--cool on that blue hologram Wolvie 75!
