  1. That's sick Kevin! Congrats! I have a jones on for more of Ryan's art since I got my new sketch. Glad to see some more Invincible love!
  2. Posted this in the Invincible Appreciation thread last night but thought those that hang out here would like to see it too! Just got this in the mail from Ryan Ottley yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I've already been threatened with a kidney punch by a potential larcenist!
  3. Wow, I can't believe it's been 2 months since we've posted in this thread. Good thing I got my Ryan Ottley commision from the Baltimore Con today. Ryan wasn't able to get to my sketch during the con and offered to mail it to me. I think he felt bad about taking so long since I paid for what I thought was a pen half-figure sketch and got color and a second character. I'm just as thrilled as can be to have this piece. Does Mark looked pissed off or what? Every time I pick this up to look at it I have the uneasy feeling that he's going to pop me!
  4. You guys are making my jaw drop. Everything from the FF splashes to the Pulp Painting to the Invincible splash. This is why I come here. I can't decide which of these is my grail so I will post them both. Walking Dead 44 - My first OA. Just when you thought she was gone Andrea comes back strong. The dialogue on this page is great! Invincible 61 - My most recent purchase. One of my favorite recent storylines and definately my favorite villian of the series. My first splash page and the pencils sans ink just look so nice on this one. This one always makes me smile.
  5. Well done Chuck! I had him sign my raw 3-6 but didn't bother submitting. Still love em though!
  6. Picked this up at the Charity Art Auction at the VA Comicon this past weekend. I hadn't planned on buying anything but who can resist Ultimate Nick Fury...he's one bad MF! Got a couple cool sketches too: Jughead by Dan Parent Storm Shadow by Larry Hama I did not spend much time in the artist room as I was after books but if the budget allowed I would have! By the way...you guys are all posting amazing stuff. I really just sneak in here to look at that (thumbs u
  7. Congrats Chuck! That was the first WD 9.8 I ever had...sans sig though. Awesome cover!
  8. Just finally took some pictures of some of the art I've picked up this month. Random assortment but I'm happy with it Archie Strip by Dan DeCarlo. I don't read Archie often but I wanted something with Archie and Jughead. Couple Peter Parker: Spider-Man pages. I really just bought these because the seller was combining shipping and I wanted so bad to own anything from a Spider-title. Peter running into the door makes me chuckle. Not too long after the Peter Parker Pages I found these and was truly a happy dude. My goal since I got bit by the bug was to have a Mark Bagley Spider-Man page. So I bought 2! Damn right I bought a Darkhawk page. I nearly peed myself when I found this. Darkhawk 1 was one of the first books I ever read and I have a soft spot in my heart for this character. I think it's about the best page I could hope for from the series....nice flying panel, transformation and some teen angst to boot. I already posted these but here are some better pictures. I did have to play with the contrast and brightness a bit as the pencils didn't show up that well. Man I love that splash I'm really not that much of an art collector but had these opportunities and was happy to take them. Some were random, some were very much wanted. I dig em (thumbs u
  9. I was waiting to get actual scans of these before posting but just haven't had the time and couldn't wait anymore. Ryan Ottley, what a guy! He is my favorite artist right now and a hell of a nice guy to boot. I knew when I saw his portfolio I was going to get something and then realized I couldn't leave with just one. I absolutely loved the Conquest story... Ryan also took a con sketch request home (his list was full) so I am anxiously awaiting that. I'll post when I get it and I'll definitley get some better scans of these soon! "Stand ready for my arrival, worm..."
  10. I really need to stop looking ahead at covers or spoiler images. Not because I feel like I'm cheating but because I can feel a knot of terror in my gut
  11. I read a lot of the reviews in this thread (minus the spoilers, of course) and have to say I didn't think the book was that bad. I can see some of what was mentioned but it finished just how I like...with me drooling for the next
  12. The last recorded gpa for a CGC 9.8 Walking Dead was $380...how am I so sure? It was waiting at my door when I got home today
  13. I guess it's about time I got in this thread. I am definitely obsessed with this series. So much so that I got my girlfriend obsessed with this series. So much so that the only book I needed to see in my deployment care packages was The Walking Dead. Hell, the only framed piece of art on my wall is from this book. The best thing though...my WD grail is finally going to be mine and is in the mail in the morning. I'll post it when it gets here (thumbs u God I can't wait for the next issue
  14. Can soembody post a cover scan of the infamous "beat-off" cover. It gets me in stitches.
  15. I just got these in the mail yesterday from Pirate. These are my first full sized pages as my Walking Dead Page is 8.5x11. I grabbed these out of Pirates thread last week simply because I thought they were great looking pages at killer prices. The panel of Superman flying basically punched me in the face when I first pulled it out. I don't even know who the characters are in the JLE page but it's so sweet. That chick just looks insane...especially if you notice she's catching the drips of the dudes melting hand. Anyways...Doug Mahnke is the man...Pirate's the man...I'm hooked on this OA thing!
