  1. 54 titles Still looking at some heavy duplication.
  2. Nice! I just picked up a stack of Famous Monsters of Filmland myself. Great covers.
  3. In case you missed It, there was a subtle reference to the Uncle Ben tragedy, where Peter was being consoled early on and was told something to the effect of "I know this must be hard, after all you've been through". Iron Man was just as much a surrogate father to PP as PP was a surrogate son to him (he even said as much himself when he "called" him to tell him he was proud of him, and mentioned that his dad never did that with him). Again, the whole point of the giddiness generated by Spidey being in the MCU was so he could interact with MCU characters. If someone still doesn't get that, or was even somehow bothered by that, then you clearly have missed the point. I wasn't inferring that Uncle Ben didn't exist or wasn't referenced, my inference was that there was to much Tony Stark and his influence in this movie. For me, it took away from Spider-Man. I cannot think of a thing in the movie that could not have been done without Tony Stark. I'll watch it again though to see if there are other points I probably missed.
  4. I agree with this. They actually switched his motivation from the death of Uncle Ben to the disappointment of Tony Stark.
  5. The store looks awesome. Congrats and I hope business booms. One question: How do you like the bookshelves as comic bins? They look very nice in the pictures.
  6. I've had a few fantastic transactions with Douglas. Great looking books (in my case, a nice big stack of magazines) that were shipped out quickly and packaged great. (Sorry I didn't see this kudos thread earlier, Douglas)
  7. Great thread, Douglas. Congrats to the buyers and the seller for some awesome books.
  8. Definitely not a good round to miss since I'd think a ton of people got 6-10 points. My first guesses were 7.5 and 8.0 Pretty stupid.
  9. Completely forgot to submit my grades for this round. Had my first guesses written on a post-it and stuck to my desk and was going to look again later... I just never went back and did it. Pretty stupid.
  10. I agree with @01TheDude I really hope that you are getting the landlord to compensate you for the repairs to his building. Probably not for the upfront costs, since it's all last minute, but something on the backend to make it right ( X amount of free rent for example) for all the work and $$ you're putting into his building.
  11. I agree. It just looks bad. Shouldn't this be set in the rules by now? Seller pays PayPal fees.
  12. That's A LOT of stuff you have on you're plate. Try your best to not hurt yourself. These updates are absolutely awesome, btw, so even if you find yourself overwhelmed, keep these going.
  13. That's probably it. It does seem to be an oversight of some sort as they were definitely not stingy with the color use on this cover. It has a lot going on. Definitely going to keep my eyes open when it comes to this issue. It's neat.
  14. That's so strange. Aren't there several issues in the Vampirella run that have a red background around the UPC? Although most I believe are boxed and may be a different shade of red. Issues 67 and 103, for example. @Darkga Nice copies, btw, and a cool find.
  15. I think, by now, people know my opinions pretty well. I think the sales forums should be closed down during the set time of the VCC. I also think doing it at least a few days before the VCC weekend would give people a nice heads-up and also allow for booth set-up for those who will eventually show up late. I'm really liking the way the gallery looks and I think it's a very good option for the VCC going forward. It may require a bit of getting used to (it's very easy) but with the new board look and function that we've already been dealing with the past 6-months and again recently with photobucket dumping on everyone, I think the gallery is a good place for not only a VCC, but a place for members to show off there collections, show photos, etc. without the unnecessary 3rd party interference. Using the Gallery for the VCC lets us keep the uniqueness of the VCC and at the same time making it as close to a regular sales forum as it has ever been before (an example being that items listed for sale can be claimed by instead of PMs) If you haven't had a chance yet to see my mock VCC Booths, please check them out and see if you like them as much as I do. View Mock Booths Here Thanks again, for voting, for reading, for responding...
  16. I've created a new poll in CG regarding the VCC going forward Please give it a view.
  17. I didn't even know we were asked. Or where. Or when the VCC is. I don't think it has ever been officially asked, just bantered back and forth for years now. Here's a link to a poll I just created in CG though. As for the rest, the VCC Hall is HERE... all info. regarding the VCC can be found in there somewhere.
