  1. I've created the poll above to highlight some thoughts on moving the Virtual Comic Con forward from where it stands right now. These are different than the question that was proposed in my previous VCC poll (which can be seen HERE). Also, some questions involve things that have been discussed in both the poll thread linked above as well as the Official VCC Discussion Thread, so please, take a look at both and join us over there as well. All votes in the poll are anonymous, but thoughts and comments are more than welcome.
  2. We can't even get a majority to agree to close the sales forum down for the 2 days of the VCC... but anything is possible.
  3. It not the first time that use of the census has been brought up. I honestly think it's a non-issue. If anyone honestly thinks that those in the top 10 or top 20 get there because they use the census to verify grades on (maybe) a half dozen books out of 20, and keep those spots (or very close to) year after year, they're nuts. The top people in the contests every year are there because they know how CGC addresses flaws on books.
  4. Thanks for the updates... I'm so excited for you. I really wish I lived closer. Is it possible to build (or have built) a small shelving unit of some sort (either square or even triangular) and place it around the pole? Nothing very deep, but maybe something you can use to hold trades or Funko Pops. As for the catchphrase, since your store is new, how about " In the beginning... Genesis Comics and Gaming"?
  5. I'm beyond honored to be included in that group. @punksdropdirtysrh, I'm tough on books with abraded corners as well, probably more so when the book isn't in hand and we all see those close up pictures that make it difficult to put it into perspective for the overall niceness of the book. This book is especially difficult to grade in pictures and scans just because the "shattering glass" artwork all the way to the edges is very distracting when really looking for potential flaws. What I see is: abraded corners at both top and bottom (bottom seems worse - top is more evident on the back cover) very small creases at the top right corner of front cover maybe some color rubbing (hard to tell in the pictures) on the far right and bottom edges of the front cover some soiling along the spine edge of the back cover pages seem (at least from the photo) to be off-white more so along the edges All that into consideration with the overall look of the book, which is very nice (flat, glossy, tight spine with no visible spine ticks, supple pages), I'd go 9.0 but could easily see it being a 9.4 when in hand. It's a nice copy...
  6. I see it on my phone. This may sound silly, but make certain you're signed in the forum. You have to be signed in to follow something.
  7. When you are in a thread that you want to follow, at the top you'll see a Green + inside a circle... click that to follow. To follow a member, go to their profile page by clicking their avatar and select the follow member button
  8. I'm a recent convert to Coke Zero. I haven't had a chance to taste the new stuff yet... It's very upsetting.
  9. Great looking mags. I have a mid-grade run of 1-8 but yours look really sharp. #8 is a great cover.
  10. In the VCC Discussion Thread I've posted a couple different examples of potential Booth setup using the Gallery as suggested earlier in this thread. If you're so inclined, check them out and let us know your thoughts. Thanks.
  11. Picked up a couple of comics from Jeff. They arrived quickly, as described, and were packaged safely. Thanks.
  12. I may be wrong, but at the time the Daredevil and Elektra movie rights were both owned by 20th Century Fox, the same right holders as X-Men.
  13. Thanks. I re-posted my dilemma in the appropriate section last night.
  14. @Marwood & I Thanks. We've been kicking around ideas about trying something new/different for the VCC and one of those ideas involved using the Gallery. I think it's a very workable idea, but I'm trying to get a grasp of exactly what is and isn't doable in that area of the forums. I sound a little broken record-ish lately, but I am really just trying to help.
  15. Now if just those people were the 60 or so that placed ahead of me...
  16. Thanks Scott, I had pm'd @Architecht about these gallery issues a little under a week or so ago. I'm assuming he's just been busy. You all have. The problem with the image upload happens a little deeper into my test gallery, within the actual gallery pics themselves, in the area for the specific images description. My thinking was that the image put into the gallery (what I will call the main image) would show the front cover. Within the description, we could add both verbal and pictorial representations of the book from the main image (perhaps a back cover scan, pictures of interior flaws, etc.). Right now, I can add a verbal (typed) description, but cannot add additional photos or scans without copy and pasting, and even then there are issues.
  17. Hey @Scott =) I've noticed some problems in the Gallery section of the forums regarding image uploading. When you go into a picture/scan that has been placed in your album, and then go to edit that image, it looks like you are supposed to have the ability to add images into the description (the reply field looks the same as if you were posting in the other sections of the forum). So far, I have been unable to upload a picture into the description. If I choose files to upload direct from my pc, the images show up in the uploaded images section but it does not let me insert them into the post (using the "+" to add the image). The same happens when I use the insert other media option. It allows me to select the desired images but does nothing when I go to hit the insert selected button. I can, however, copy and paste those same images from other sections of the site into field and have them show up. Although I have noticed that when doing this it takes away my ability to edit that main album image (the option to do so seems to be, for lack of a better term, shattered... meaning the manage image button is somehow being fragmented into separate parts outside of the button). An example of this specific problem can be seen in my test gallery HERE . Maybe I'm trying to do something that it just is not capable of doing (creating an album with a smaller album(s) within it).
  18. Hard to tell from just the one picture. 6.0 - 6.5
  19. My inbox says the same thing. I think that @Architecht and @Scott =) are working on this issue.
  20. I'm guessing that little grey boxed arrow in the top right is what we are supposed to use now to go to a link that someone imbeds.
