  1. He has 30 days to pay before he can be nominated. If you sell the books before that 30 day period, I believe he could nominate you for the PL list. I honestly don't know what happens if he is "on vacation" due to the strike, but I believe the time frame stands.
  2. It means he'll come back to a possible PL nomination... and an excuse for not paying on time.
  3. It's possible that he's been busy building fire pits. Winter is coming soon. I believe he is on a 2 week vacation, no? Correct http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9643417&gonew=1#UNREAD
  4. I'll put the "Ashy-Slashy" puppet on my want list now.
  5. Calling OAKMAN!!!! Where's that lovely display of yours? And an up to date picture please . Up to date? Nothing's changed in ten years... All those great keys just dangling off the edge of the shelf... barely hanging on
  6. That's a lot of money tied up in Black Lightning. Do network tv shows generate a price bump enough to justify paying $40 each for these? After a cursory search, this seems high. Also, what are the grades associated with your copies?
  7. There is no way, imo, that Klaw is going to be a main player/villain in the Black Panther movie. Just slightly above what he was in the Avengers: AoU at best.
  8. Thanks I have my eye on a few copies I'm tempted to say something sarcastic because you seem to have missed my point. But instead I will be direct: My point is that you overpaid. Again. I'm not saying the value won't increase, but how much do you expect the value to increase? Enough to make that buy worth it since you overpaid. Have you done any basic comparative trend analysis with similar books? Do you even know what that is or how to do it? What makes you think it will be worth your investment for the price you paid? How much did Strange Tales 126 go up with the 1st app of Clea and Dormammu in that grade? Or a similar book like 1st app Collector? Do you realize that you still live in Canada which means you probably paid more for shipping to get the comic and will probably have to charge more for shipping to sell the comic and that reduces your realizable margins on BOTH ends? Especially since you already bought it about FMV? Please stop buying comics, you will lose, and continue to lose until you get professional help for your issues, more education, or a full time job. Please stop assuming you'll 'figure it out' and 'learn as you go'. Has anything in your life been successful that way? Its like thinking you can play hockey other than the fact that you can't skate. There will be occasions where you take a few steps in the right direction, but you'll either fall or get knocked down over and over and over. Which is not to say there isn't some amount of honor in continuing to get up after falling, just that its no good to anyone, including yourself. And people yelling from the sidelines won't help you skate any better either, no matter how well those people skate. Please note that 'skating' in this scenario IS NOT BUYING AND SELLING CHEAPER COMICS OR COLLECTIBLES. Skating is gaining either through work (like at a job where people pay you) or education (organized school) actual business and analytical skills that will help you make logical, reasonable, basic, economic decisions. Learning to skate should not occur in a competitive environment, so that you can fall and get back up without real consequence. As always, I'm sure you will ignore this advice because it doesn't fit your fantasy narrative of how you think your life will be greatly improved if you could only string together some consecutive flipping successes. All it would do is make you overconfident leading to more poor decisions. You keep thinking its just about a couple hundred dollars in losses, but its really about your decision making abilities, which impact not just your wallet but every part of your life. To answer your question all the comics you've mentioned have been shipped to my friends address which will save me money since the buyers are in the states. Yes I've done some comparing with listing that have sold in the same grade and go from 20-60 bucks. I know I have a lot to improve on but I'm working at is and yes I'm sure you're tired of hearing it. I want to point out that with Aphra it's been going as I said so far, the cheaper comics will sell to be replaced with more expensive copies which they will sell when the time is right. I'll also say that I did get the timing wrong but only by a couple days unlike last time but that credit goes to my friend. I'm curious, can you show me where they've sold for $20 to $60? They're ebay sold listings LINK I'm not seeing it. At least for your stated grade range (G+ - G/VG). I was talking about 126 which is what I was basing what the 157 will be close to eventually I'm confused. Maybe I missed a page or three... You paid $13 for a $5 book because an unrelated book sells for $40ish???

  10. Yes they are aware it's a stock photo but I haven't asked the second question. I did give him the option of a refund should he not be satisfied. If the buyer knew that it was a stock photo, then no harm, no foul. However, you make it sound like you're going above and beyond by offering a refund if the buyers not happy. You're not. Any buyer on eBay can return anything whether the seller offers/allows refunds or not. I'm still not sure why that is as people can take advantage of that and I'm not saying I'm going above and beyond I just don't advertise it because people will take advantage of it. There is no defense a seller can make with a stock photo and no description for a "not as described" return if the buyer chooses initiate one. What if the copy you send the buyer is 9.4 and they wanted something higher? No Defense. What if they find one cheaper over the next 30 days and initiate a return on yours and just say it was not as described? No Defense. What if in 30 days they just would rather have the money for any reason? Again, no defense. I'm not saying any of these would happen, but you've seen them all before (some first hand). There is not just a little risk. as you say, but A LOT of risk. Especially for someone like you who is $1200 in the hole after 2+ years of trying. The people that bought from me have decent feedback and one has more then I do. You do bring up good points except for the last one, you can't return or ask for a refund because of buyer's remorse. Others have said it already, but a buyer can use any excuse they want for a refund. An inexperienced buyer may just say that they have changed their mind, but almost all buyers would simply say it was not as described. Buying from a presale severely limits the seller being able to effectively combat the reason for return (no pics, no description, iffy delivery date, etc.). A presale limits the sellers ability to put the book quickly into a buyers hand (another reason fast shipping is a plus) which gives them less time to think about all that money they just spent and less time to look for a better deal... especially on a variant speculation purchase. I hope you get your money on these, I really do, but I would stay away from this type of potential headache in the future.

  12. This type of 3 party presale has potential disaster written all over it, only this time it's not in bright pink crayon; you really have to think about all that could go wrong. Make certain to hold the sellers money in case of a return. Probably one of the last things you need is negative Ebay feedback and Paypal putting holds on your account. Ebay has very specific rules when it comes to doing presales. I would brush up on those before ever trying to do this type of sale again. Also, make certain you put "Stock Photo" for any listing like this in future.
  13. Price paid (including shipping) and how much you sold it for, accounting for selling fees. Price Paid $33USD Total after fees: $111usd That's a pre-order, correct? Correct So you're saying that you bought the book on pre-order for $33. Meaning the seller does not have the book. That also means that you do not have the book in hand. Then you sold the book that the original seller does not even have yet to someone else? Is that correct? So, Original Seller ---> Sold to you for $33 (but does not have the book) --> You (who does not have the book) then sold the book to someone else for $111. Is that correct? Almost the seller already has the comics and will ship out around nov 2nd and yes I don't have the comic on hand that's why it's a pre-order. As soon as I get it I will ship it to them should something happen I will give them a refund but the guy that purchased it knows how pre-orders work. I hope that the person you purchased these 2 from is reputable.

  15. Hey, he spent $30+ to make .40 cents on the ASM pink variant. He showed us all and he knows what he's doing. And he did it all in just 3 days.
  16. If that's a serious offer then yes Good. I will PM you my info.. Classy move. I guess I have to eat crow now, he just made $10 Yeah, me too. A pity sale is still a sale, and $10 is $10. At least he was smart enough to not turn that deal down. Way to go, Gabe! You'll be playing in Gators end of the pool in no time!!! Didn't Gabe pay shipping on top of the $30 for that book?
  17. Maybe Morbius is supposed to have pink hands and Gabe has the only original copy left in existence.
  18. So the word "SLAP" written in pink is color touch? Color touch on a comic usually has purpose... and from my impression, is usually frowned upon. Adding amateur on top of that only makes it worse, imo. However this is not color touch, it's simply writing/coloring on a comic, and really detracts from the value of this comic. I think Meeklo had it priced/graded right in his sales thread and is probably feeling very good about getting $30 out of it. I think it's wishful thinking trying to profit on this one.
  19. But.... it has pink all over it. I think anyone wanting a copy of ASM 101 for 60-75 bucks could easily find one without pink all over it.
