  1. Here's the discussion: you were chatting about the cold, Brock replied: "I was golfing on Vancouver Island last week. You replied: Vancouver is more expensive than Brookyn! Vancouver is not located on Vancouver Island, it's 3 hours away by Ferry. So you quoted the prices of homes on Vancouver while Brock is talking about Vancouver Island..... On ‎2‎/‎6‎/‎2019 at 5:15 PM, Brock said: I was golfing on Vancouver Island last week. Vancouver is more expensive than Brooklyn! Here's a map for reference: There's lots of places on the Island considerably more affordable than Vancouver.
  2. What? I just shipped a box to them from Canada yesterday.....I hope that doesn't get returned back?
  3. The Modern tier. It has a max value of $200.
  4. I just had a batch of 21 books that I sent in for a quick press and they were pressed within a week of being received....all were pressed, I didn't receive any communication advising me of an option not to.
  5. It's not to support their idiocy, it's to profit from ripping someone off with lies.
  6. I agree too.....if X-Men #1 collapses in price, then a mess ton of other dominos will fall......
  7. You should report this greedy ahole to ebay...this is basically fraudulent, but someone is probably dumb enough to buy it.
  8. My days of bringing anything priced under a buck/book are long gone! Sorry.
  9. EH books? They can't find their way to the recycling bin quick enough!
  10. I personally love Rai 3, still think it's one of the best comic covers over the last 30 years.....undervalued imo.
  11. 30+ copies of #1 for $10 each? I call shenanigans, I have probably a dozen or so lying around and haven't sold any at the monthly show priced for less than that. Not only that, no one EVER asks me about dazzler.....I'll bring a stack of them at the big con next month, and we'll see if I can move any of them there....
  12. His delusional prices aren't limited to that one auction.
  13. This room is amazing! I really like how you maximize the display, mixing in different eras and genres as well. I hope you don't get burglarized, with all those massive books out in the open...

  15. The show is called, Capital Comic Book Convention. It was so popular they've expanded the dealer space, the admission is $6 (up from $5 and I hope they don't continue to increase the price for attendees). In my monthly show that I setup at, there were many of the dealers there and all of them told me it was a great event. For me, I won't ever have the capability of doing a bigger show (at least not in the foreseeable future), so this is nice that I will be able to setup at a larger venue in addition to my monthly show which is very cost effective! The location is right downtown Ottawa (Ottawa Marriot), try to convince your family to visit the capital for the weekend, there's loads to do!
  16. I've gotten the better of Gerry on modern books in more than one instance, not all his pricing is bad just be smart about what you buy.....
  17. Hey WC, Thanks for continuing this thread, it's been a great read and I hope you continue posting entries. As for pure comic shows, there is one coming up in March in Ottawa that I'll be setup at. The inaugural show was in the fall and everyone I spoke with said it was a huge success, if you feel like making a trip down to the Nation's capital around that time you can dump a couple hours into this show on that day.
  18. I've done that a couple times, the OP in this thread got a book off me that was underpriced!! The first 1-2 shows where I was sorting stuff to be brought to the shows with old bags/stickers I made an error where I had 2 copies of a BA semi key priced at $12 when they were selling for around $40 online. This guy may or may not have known the value since the books he was looking at were all similar, e.g. not just hot books he could flip, and he dickered with me on $20 which I accepted as a sign of good faith hoping to build a relationship with a customer at my very first show. I haven't done that since, but nowadays I would honor the sticker, but do what you did and use the dickering opportunity to take the books away from him.....it's different if it's an expectant repeat buyer. The only other time I've dealt with this buyer was about a hardcover that I had priced at $20 (retailed for $80) in which he offered me $10, I flatly refused and he walked away agitated.
  19. Hi guys, Looking to sub a batch of books for the first time since 2005! If I'm reading this right (batch of copper/modern books), a prescreen, press and grade (all fast tracked) can still take up to 57 business days? 35 days for the prescreen + 8 days for the grading + 14 days for the press? I'm fairly confident in this stack of books and was thinking I might just dump the prescreen, or break the invoice down into two submissions (keep the higher quantity second batch to meet the minimum number for prescreen....thoughts?
