  1. Cubs have to make it there first... They are already there. Backs up against the wall tonight. But then me and Richard are still crying in our beer... My condolences to your Cubs. I don't pay attention to major league baseball very much and with today being back to the future day I read that as Cubs in the World Series my bad

  3. won't lose: UAB UALR Unv of Denver DePaul Gonzaga rude awakening all of the above
  4. Action comics 1 unrestored, 7 above 5.0 unrestored Det 27unrestored Superman 1 above 5.0 unrestored Batman 1 7.0 or above unrestored Cap1 7.0 or above unrestored...six for me that's a nice list:) 2003 action 1 and detective 27 sold at double digit discounts (i.e. Value drop) from 2000-2002 previous established marks. As much as we would like to believe in the value support of the absolute top tier, best of the best, any book on this list absolutely could and likely would drop in value given a myriad of different variables. In other words, there is no sure bet. Even the mile high copies "could" be devalued given certain circumstances
  5. I do not believe any comic is value proof
  6. Yes that's true as well a big mistake on my part. It was a ba12 and $300 cash if I remember correctly. Don't sell yourself short(er). Yup that's correct a ba12 and 300 cash then that's better, but still not "good"....
  7. And I don't know if this is true or not but I got a pm that you supposedly traded a cgc 9.0 asm129 (1000+) for a raw ba12 (500?). ??
  8. Is a JLA 1 worth so little? Plus not sure that i'd trade for a book that is market saturated. In order to sell it you'll have to price it low. Yes because I've been getting offers of only 100-150 dollars for it. So let me get this straight. You traded a 450-500 book for a 150-200 book?? it's a 450-500 dollar comic? I've had boardies laugh at me when I told them that and they told me I was overpricing it. yes. 450 min unless it was just a dog ugly 1.5. Then 300-350 is still "give away" price

  10. The rule of thumb is buy the nicest conditioned copy you can afford ...if lower condition of a higher value is best you can buy then do it. Same with higher condition of a lower value. If it's a question of only affording one, go with book you want more
  11. thats reasonable but every sale of that magnitude is unique at this point and doesn't necessarily follow any set pattern So essentially, it could be a little more or a little less than 1/3rd based on certain variables (e.g. page quality)? absolutely. There are a myriad of variables that would affect price

  13. it already has, many times (lower grade action 1 and tec 27s) ... (thumbs u (see heritage archives) Excuse my poorly worded previous question Rephrase: Gator, Will a piece of original comic book art ever eclipse the price of a high grade Action Comics # 1 or high grade Detective 27 ? if that cover to either of those issues ever surfaced Dodge any of the major ga keys covers would possibly surpass Do you think any of the major key silver age covers would possibly surpass the higrade Detective 27 or Action 1 ? only af15 imo

  16. there has been enough media coverage of the record action 1 sales that it should stay in front of tec 27, but just by a hair (single digit %) what "could" change that and flip flop is if the 9.2 tec 27 were to hit the market and change the mass perception... Considering the fact that Action #1 has consistently received more press in recent years and still -- Tec #27 is only behind by a hair -- would it be fair to say that Action #1's status as No. 1 is on shaky ground? Pretty firm at the moment.

  19. You’re absolutely right. I started collecting 1930s Disney comics when I was 15-16 and I avoided greedy dealers. I was already somewhat knowledgeable, however, or at least I always tried to document myself before buying. due diligence, especially in this day and age, is the only way to go...no reason not to, with so many resources at one's fingertips
