  1. How does anyone know this book is even for sale or will be coming to an auction. Lots of assumptions here
  2. no Now, get us the highest privately sold record price. that's upto the buyer to reveal if he so determines
  3. pretty strong price all things considered..
  4. The provenance of this batman 1 outweighs its condition imo
  5. George ... That whiz 1 would look good in my collection. Hehe
  6. Yeah the FMV of a 3.0 PLOD is probably around $1,000 at the moment. Id say value closer to price paid but I'd be disappointed none the less
  7. I've only ever owned one blue I think. The one I got from andre
  8. Tec 28s sell so infrequently not fair to assign a per point price. Filter81 just sold a sweet copy Most of them seem to be slab PLOD. Is that your experience as well? Thanks again for the info G.A.tor (thumbs u I think it is a 1:1.5 ratio blue to plod (13/19)
  9. I don't have first hand knowledge but I believe the cage 9.0 copy to have been maxed out prior to grading.... I can't imagine metro not (I know I would )
  10. Tec 28s sell so infrequently not fair to assign a per point price. Filter81 just sold a sweet copy
  11. I've owned about 20. Nicest slabbed I had was a 5.0 sold to prime time and it was stolen along the mail system. Had a raw 7.0 I sold for huge money years ago but don't think the buyer ever slabbed.
  12. I only have 3 copies myself right now. Sent them to Chicago
  13. every Vancouver I have ever owned has been white paged
  14. Very cool. You're right; that book rarely shows up. Boy, I'd love to read that story, too, but that cover is one of the great GA covers in the history of the medium. Just my . I will have a couple of copies for sale in NYcc in oct. Or could bring to Chicago if any interested parties (shameless plug)
  15. 3x more than I ever owned at one time
  16. yet that is exactly what it has done...tec 31 is "the" golden age cover to many dc enthusiasts and supply is very limited...that has created the pricing model... while batman 1 is a far superior complete package, up until recently, supply was seemingly readily available....so, by comparison to tec 31, there was less upward pricing pressure due to availability versus desirability
  17. yep...and a tec 31 in 1.8 sold for that price...and a batman 1 in 1.8 could have been had for 32K (2 k cheaper) so, they are now on even ground, for the most part, when it comes to pricing... will the trend reverse, maybe, maybe not... is batman 1 a better book...of course it is...it has always been, and I don't think anyone can argue to the contrary...but in the past 12 years, tec 31 has not only closed the gap (it was a large gap) but it has even surpassed in a few examples... so, unless the slab centric/cover centric hobby does a 180 degree about face and start appreciating "the book" again, I suspect the trend continues that tec 31 will outpace batman 1....strictly for the wrong reasons
  18. If this sale is legit, it seems like a steal next to the Tec #31 CGC 2.0 that recently sold on Heritage for $34,655. I understand recent FMV may place the two books close, but in the long run, I don't see them as being anywhere near close. grade for grade (mid and lower), it appears tec 31's have caught up and surpassed batman 1's in 2005, a 5.0 tec 31 cost $15K and a 5.0 batman 1 was 25K in 2009, a 5.0 tec 31 cost $30 K and a 5.0 batman 1 was $40K in 2011, a 5.0 tec 31 cost $50K and a 5.0 batman 1 was $60K in 2014 now we have 2.0's (tec 31s) selling for more than same grade bat 1's... seems like a trend that will continue also, a 6.5 tec 31 has sold for more than 100K, that's about where 7.0 batman 1s are
  19. Indeed! I would have held out for a 9.4 but that's me hehe
