  1. scam How so? the scammer is using a hijacked account.... that particular copy of af15, with the "june 5" date I used to own and it is in a new holder now...those pics, are from the auction I won the book from back in 2009 I believe...
  2. I bid 44k. Got a 47k counter. Was going to up offer to 45k but I guess seller wasn't patient enough and took the 44500 offer. Cest la vie

  8. I would put trimming in green personally
  9. I rarely venture in to CG for sanity reasons.... what is the issue? Comic books are not (or are simply bad) investments. But yes I get your drift. -J. Rather bang my head on a wall

  11. Exceptions to every rule. Unless you know the buyer of the cc copy (I would hazard a guess that this person is exception to the rule and that that result won't be duplicated any time soon) the fact still remains that the majority of collectors dislike trimming...a lot. Obviously amateur "scissor jobs" and chopped books are frowned upon but actually quite a few books a more like *micro trim*. micro trim is just as frowned upon by the majority, I suspect, if a poll or such was taken

  13. I had 9 copies about 2 years ago...sold 5 of them and was able to buy 3 more last year and 1 late last year...so, I had 8 available last year, heading into the con season.... sold 4, so I have only had 4 this year...have sold 3 and bought one back, now I am down to just a 3.0 (the one recently bought back from a buddy), and my 7.5 that I'm getting offers today, much higher than I had priced for at Atlanta con last month (I adjusted price up for heroes )
  14. GPA is $4,525 What does gpa say about the 5.0 I sold last month for 10 k $8,365 Will these (4.0 and 5.0) eventually show up on GPA? Not my sales
  15. GPA is $4,525 What does gpa say about the 5.0 I sold last month for 10 k Just too much demand and no real supply to speak of. I can't replace these copies even at prices im selling for
  16. I sold a 4.0 at heroes for 8k
  17. Not a fan a trimming at all. Restoring/adding back to a book I'm ok with. Removing from books on purpose I don't like.
  18. Agreed. Mf52 didn't make my top 10 and might not make my top 20 or beyond anymore Yet, personally I love the book If my recollection is correct, the crazy price years of the More Fun run was largely driven by a small group of deep pocketed collectors trying to put the run tougher at the same time. As they completed their runs or moved on to other series, prices dropped dramatically. That sounds similar to when Steve Geppi, James Halperin and Robert Overstreet went after Barks Ducks and EC stuff awhile ago. We all know it was 1koko and Me on the more funs I was trying to keep it a secret. I think Mark Z may have contributed a little as well. indeed
