  1. BTW, those aren't Alan Light reprints. And on the bottom row at the far right, in the glare, you can barely make out an Action 1. I remember that book very well, a solid fine unrestored. As for the Trapped, those apparently were very rare at one time. Somehow Camelot acquired a large lot of them, maybe 75-100 copies. They trickled out over the years. I still have copies show up at the store every once in a while.. what was the asking price for the Action 1? At that show, if I remember correctly, it was $4000. Willie ended up hanging onto it for a few years. It sold in '86 through Glenn's store to Mark Wilson for $12,000. I'm sure it was cleaned and restored as that was Mark's forte in those days.
  2. great models, but when are you going to put them together!
  3. I was expecting the book to go in the 100-120K range... I was high bidder at 89K before the reserve kicked in and currently there is no bidder willing to step up at the reserve price...at this point, I suspect the lot will pass, as 180K is way high (IMO) and I don't know anyone that is paying that for it (though of course, I don't know everyone )... that said, maybe someone will step up and bid, but as of now, I wish it had of been a no reserve auction so that we could truly determine value...c'est la vie rick
  4. I sold that copy last year (thumbs u Correction made It's a great looking copy. Wondering when Gator will confirm this copy. I can confirm I sold that copy that year...I am not the seller now, the buyer of the book is (the seller is the person I sold the copy too) (thumbs u

  8. a machine I tell you...simply a machine!
  9. I have a cgc 7.5 (already looks 8.0 imo) that has a better than 50/50 shot at hitting 8.0 that I have offered at 11,995 and had quite a few tire kickers, but no takers... a 8.0 at 28K is, imo, purely a speculation price, or a very uninformed couple of bidders (my guess is speculating it can hit 8.5 or 9.0) however, I could be remiss if I didn't really "wish" that this was the new benchmark, but as roy mentioned, I (or anyone else for that matter) can get an old label 8.0 for 17,500 right now (no shot at upgrade) and there have been and still are not any takers....so, tread cautiously!

  12. I had a retail store for years (extension of our warehouse) but this will be the first stand alone "full retail only " store I have run since 1995... to be honest, I am opening it because I love comics and I figured this is a better way to spend my day than sitting at home watching abc.com I am not expecting to make money, heck, might even lose, but I will enjoy it, and since we actually closed the retail part of the warehouse last year, I have missed the customer interaction (thumbs u

Nice. one of my pep34's now resides with a fellow boardie, the other 2 are staying put for a while...just hate to part with them ...no wonder I cant find a copy - you have them all!
