  2. Man, we got Tebow here in Denver... as I'm sure you know.... and I'm not a Bronco fan, but how do you think he'll go over??? Dan he's still rocking the orange and blue

  4. just because I didn't want you to actually do it, doesn't mean you have to pout
  5. I think I will color my hair blue and orange
  6. once I get off my lazy butt, will be a whole slew of sales reported to gpa (thumbs u
  7. a 8.5 ow/w just sold privately for $15K (thumbs u
  8. in rereading a PM from yannis from a few days ago, he mentioned a 1.0 blue tec 37, so that might be the one he mentions a .5 tec 35, so maybe I confused the 2? I don't know, just speculating
  9. my understanding is that yannis sold the book as a 2.5, but it cgc'd a .5 (again, I could be wrong, just trying to let the "community" know what I have heard)... my understanding is that yannis did not answer Matt's PM's because he was dealing with a personal tragedy ...I guess I can understand that, if that is indeed the reason as stated my understanding is that yannis screwed up "assuming" that because matt had asked for a month, that he couldn't pay early, when indeed we now know matt could... but I don't believe yannis ever contacted matt about it, and thus, he f-d the deal up and has no recourse at this point, since he did sell the figure out from under matt... that is my understanding, but it could be wrong
  10. even though I don't believe this transaction ended the way matt would have liked, the transaction has ended... maybe matt is just a bigger person than others that want yannis on the probation thread or maybe matt will decide to request to put yannis on it... in any event, my guess is from their posts, that he has heard enough from me and you and the grandstand (thumbs u
  11. thanks...seems like a genuine response...I don't know alex at all outside of his posts in GA, but he seems like a genuine collector... I have known john for years, I think he realizes he screwed up, but I can't speak for him, and I have only known him as a good guy... I know it doesn't help you out (I will see if I can't dig up a nice 37 for you sometime soon)
  12. But i had the money long before alex did and all i said to alex was i know you have the book and told him the story. to his reply was i had no idea he (yannis) was doing this and im sorry thats it that is john's fault for not contacting you to see if you had the money...I believe he will man up to his mistake... I am curious about your's and alex's conversation, if alex had any knowledge john had "sold" the book to you...again, just curious, really none of my business except it has becomes the "boards" business with this thread (thumbs u
  13. matt, no one is questioning you did everything right ...I applaud you for composure, and feel for your loss of the book (it happens to everyone if you are in this hobby long enough)... what I would like to know (purely for selfish reasons) is what bat-man/alex PM'd you... several boardies have "thrown" him under the bus, so maybe you can shed some light? again, I have no clue, I just can't pass any judegement without some facts
  14. Well - bingo? You still don't get it. If X was guilty, why go through the trouble of painting a scarlet letter in X's sigline indicating that X was the other buyer in the first place? Exactly...because he didn't know about the previous transaction when he made the purchase. Clearly when he removed the book from his sig, he likely didn't want to draw additional attention to himself but from what I recall a few days ago, he was proud to show off his pre-Robin Tec collection within his sig. If he knew that there was an agreed transaction with another buyer previously, he wouldn't have displayed that very book with pride for all of us members to see. You have provided a plausible theory. But this isn't fact. It's also plausible he put it in his sig line because he was happy he acquired a grail, and didn't expect Matt (a relatively non-active forum member) to know about his sig line. Further, why hasn't BatMan used any of the last 24 hours to say he didn't know? If I was in BatMan's shoes, my first post would go like this: It was ME who bought the book. Matt, I'm so sorry - I didn't know you already had an agreement to buy it from Yannis. Yannis didn't tell me! From what I understand, that's more or less what Bat-Man has pm'ed to Matt. Why he doesn't want to speak here, is his business. Some people don't believe in public confessionals. Or maybe he senses this thread is becoming a kangaroo court...? You really ought to be ashamed of yourself for accusations without having all the facts. looks like you said it better than me, and before me and keep in mind I have NO idea what the composition of the PM from alex to matt is, but supposedly neither does virtually everyone else (thumbs u
  15. Why did he say the book was more damaged than he thought? I believe the book cgc'd a .5 vs the 2.5 he stated, though that might be a diff tec 37 he is talking about It'd be a shame if it was a .5 at one time considering it's been offered here by one seller or another as a 1.8 and a 2.5. I am not 100% certain, but I believe I recall john telling me that in a PM...
  16. my understanding is that john approached alex (bat-man) and offered the book if alex could paypal right away (because john/yannis) needed the money right then for some medical emergency... again, I really don't see any valid excuse for john not at least contacting matt first, and I told this to john in a pM.... john screwed up if he wants to repair the damage, he can come here and try to repair, matt got screwed for sure, but for anyone to "assume" anything about alex's silence on the matter is just speaking out their "you know where"... apparently alex has pm'd matt and conversed (right?-maybe dan or surfer can confirm, or maybe they have knowledge of the PM and I would say that only they have the right to make a comment about alex, if they have first hand knowledge)... but, this witch hunt mentality of "assumptions" , unless you know the facts, is so juvenile and ludicrous, it makes me want to vomit
  17. Mike- It wasn't money/greed as john sold to bat-man for less than to matt It had to do with getting money asap for the medical expenses (I believe that is what john told me in a pm) Johns error was assuming matt couldn't pay right away without contacting him...there in lies the breach of contract and the issue
  18. Didn't someone post that the new buyer paid less than mt1000 If so wasn't higher offer motivation
  19. Chinese drywall, move back into your parents house along w/ wife and baby, move back home 9 months later and try to remember where you stashed everything (thumbs u
  20. Why did he say the book was more damaged than he thought? I believe the book cgc'd a .5 vs the 2.5 he stated, though that might be a diff tec 37 he is talking about It was never a 2.5 to begin with I thought in one of matt's first posts, he said it was sold to him as a 2.5 You're right, just another case of a raw book being overgraded (thumbs u
