  1. Why did he say the book was more damaged than he thought? I believe the book cgc'd a .5 vs the 2.5 he stated, though that might be a diff tec 37 he is talking about
  2. cool, give us the cliff notes version (thumbs u
  3. it is well within the confines of human nature
  4. more food for thought...and a new twist...wow It doesn't seem so unreasonable that he'd put up a pic of his new comic ten days after "buying" it. If the deal was agreed upon on the 18th, maybe loot was sent on the 19th, comic shipped on the 20th or 21st, it's easy to see the second buyer not getting it until the 27th or 28th, then scanning it and getting it in his sig. I'm definitely leaning towards condemning the seller, but not at all convinced that the second buyer did anything wrong. I hope not. why would the seller sell it for less money than he had previously agreed a sale on? Especially as the original buyer still wanted the book. Doesn't add up. I find that in situations like this, it rarely adds up, or there wouldn't be a situation like this Unless he was selling the book to two people and was waiting to see who paid up first.

I could play Devil's Advocate (better than Pacino) and come up with a couple reasons, but I won't bother as I'm sure they wouldn't be right. I'm just not ready to throw the second buyer in the nefarious category yet. I concur, there are a myriad of scenarios that "could" be reasons or explainations, but why bother until we hear from the seller...at least that is my point

  7. more food for thought...and a new twist...wow
  8. would really like to hear who the seller is (remember, I believe someone in origin stated this was a well thought of, reputable boardie, right?...seems out of character based on that general description, but anything is possible) and what the sellers POV was? until then, I personally will refrain from any speculation and damnation (though it might be coming if warranted!), and I simply encouraged others to do the same
  9. we have to remember there are 2 sides to every story... and, as someone mentioned, not everyone is on the boards every day, etc... and I am not saying, by any means, that the original thread starter (or intended thread started) didn't get screwed, etc, but until the guilty is tried and judged, they need to have a say, right and just so everyone knows, I only know, what you all know...
  10. let me remind everyone that until both sides of the story are heard, judgement and speculation, etc, should be refrained from (I know it is tough to do, but that is the "community" thing to do) now, don't get me wrong, I am not questioning the original premise, and it may very well be that both the seller and the "new" buyer are in the wrong, or could be that neither are, or just the seller, or, the old buyer and the seller, etc... I have no more insight or involvement in this issue than anyone outside of the original buyer, but I will leave an open mind (at least for now)... tough not to want to speculate, but for the love of pete, don't
  11. And I think dan is in the NE and frank is in cali so I can officially eliminate frank as the seller...but I do wonder who
  12. If the seller is a well respected board member then I wonder how this went down
  13. if it was frank, he can't post in 24 hours, since he is "on vacation", but I doubt it is frank

  16. I think I had posted a group shot of some SC22's before...I bought and sold a ton, maybe had 9 at same time, at one point, and never though to photo together
  17. From a value standpoint today, cap 1 has much more upside potential 2 yrs ago they both sold for about the same grade for grade... Fast forward to today and bat 1 is about 2x pricier now grade for grade A year from now I think cap will grow faster (relative to today pricing) than bat 1 will Just my opinion
