  1. that is what collecting should be about... the "excitement" of owning a desirable comic (thumbs u
  2. I bid on the Mound copy, but stopped before $1500. That 9.2 is a fabulous copy on ComicLink and that 9.0 sold on ComicLink has great eye appeal. The 9.2 is my old copy, and it fetched a whopping $1500 two or three years ago on Clink. That was tremendous price two or three years ago. Who would have known it would be worth so much more today. Not really. I paid $5700 for the 9.6 copy in 2004, so working backwards from that price, $1500 for a 9.2 copy a few years after that was actually a good deal. Of course, quite a few people at the time thought I had lost my mind to pay so much for a GL 7, and told me so! I would think $5700 is quite bit for that book during that time. If you factor inflation the last seven years it would be considered $6500-6800 in 2010 dollars. In hindsight, when the Green Lantern movie was announced, every key GL has pretty much doubled. I assume you still have that copy right? Nope, sold to Spunkydo a couple of years ago along with the rest of my GLs except for the #1.
  3. going to get motivated and offer the Xmen 1-151 collection on the boards... most from 50 and up are available (I didn't really display any of them at mega con)... at least half of the 1-49 sold there, but there are still some choice issues and some white mountain peds available... stay tuned
  4. (thumbs u That's a big gamble. Maybe this flipper may make money and not loose like the others and especially some of the Mound City books. doesn't nec have to be a flipper...could be some that just recognized potential... don't know, but whenever I see a book in common grade go way outside the norm, that is my immediately thought pattern these days.... "improvable" There's a few 8.5 on CL...why not pay a little more and not take the risk for those copies. BTW, the 8.5 that sold recently is slightly faded or just not rich in color. could be something about that copy, maybe the notes detailed a 1.0 jump... no way to know without asking both the winner and the underbidder, if we knew who they were underbidder. Just liked it. as did someone else

  8. That was a strong price for the X-men 1 8.0 on CL 3/10. unless it is soon to be a 8.5 or 9.0 (thumbs u
  9. For a second I thought you meant they had the images of robots on them. That would be cool! Nothing fires up the ladies like pajamas with robots on them (thumbs u
  10. too damn many damn lawyers on this board. Yep. Absolutely. They're just as bad and dishonest as those comic dealers cluttering up this place. woman had a legal problem, and in the yellow pages found "boudreaux, boudreaux & boudreaux." she called, and a guy answered, "may i help you?" she said, "yes, could i talk to mr. boudreaux?" he said, "oh, he's in court right now." she asked "then can i talk to mr. boudreaux?" he said, "he's in a seminar." she said "then, in that case, can i talk to mr. boudreaux?" he replied, "speaking."
