  4. well, this little old lady called me up and wanted me to look at a comic book she found in her attic mixed in with some old Saturday Evening posts... so, I said I didn't really have the time to look at an old comic with batman on the cover (she said "the bat guy") but that if she wanted to drag her old lazy bones out to me, I would look at it... she said she was desperate for money (I knew I had her then) and told me she needed $154 to pay her utility bill, or they would cut off her heat (it got down to 81 last night...brrr)...so, I did what any reasonable person would do, I offered her $50 and a box of centrum...she agreed...
  5. You have two now??? Or is this the one I saw a couple of weeks ago? this is an unrestored 9.0, will hit the cgc census soon (thumbs u cut and pasted from my online cgc account: 001 Detective Comics 27 5/39 D.C. Comics Universal 9.0 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE
  6. 64 is a great book... but, for whatever reason, it was the last issue (or one of) I bought to complete my 27-225 run when I had it...

  12. the suspense cover is nicer, of course, but the tec is a much better "read"
  13. I noticed Fantastic 3 on your sig line as well. Gosh, if a boardie were to run across one of those it would be almost criminal not to give you a shot at it. So true geek. The only way I could square it if is said boardie were putting the Fantastic run together himself and the 3 was crucial in making that happen. Otherwise burn him at the stake! burnt steaks (ribeyes)
  14. I noticed Fantastic 3 on your sig line as well. Gosh, if a boardie were to run across one of those it would be almost criminal not to give you a shot at it. ouch...don't burn the man at the stake yet Why, is someone selling a Fantastic #3? wouldn't you like to know

  16. I've always like this one! it is a neat book, no doubt Considered by many to be the greatest GGA cover of them all! but considered by some in fla. to be merely "neat." super neat
  17. Tell us all what it will hammer at wise one if anyone is interested, I will PM exchange my thoughts...but, i am likely "done" with public prediction posts, as apparently some folks seem to think I can influence an auctions outcome Face it Rick, in auctions you bid in, the final price is invariably your Max Bid, or one bid increment above it. to true, but at least 1 or 2 folks think that the price I state a book will/might/should go for, affected what it went for (I wasn't a participant) ...meaning, they think because I posted a "price" that someone else bid upto that price, and beat them... go figure! Weird how the free market works huh? People can, and should, bid as much as they can on a book they want. Plain and simple Silly people
