  4. thank goodness I too, am resisting the temptation....might get me a tarzan mego doll, though! gator I figured you would collect all those Tarzan covers on which Gator arse is getting kicked. Or are you a little wishy-washy like Donovan? (Sorry Rick, but someone had to do it!) if donovan comes back, i will be one happy camper....wishy washy or not!

  8. tis true...it is the only time I have sold a book that I purchased which I indended to "own"/keep in my collection (I primarily sell toys/action figures for a living)...I will occasionally sell undercopies/extra copies from upgrades (and most always at my cost or below, as many will attest), but this was the first time and only time I have "flipped" a book (with CGC grading and all associated costs, I believe I paid right at $13K total)...definitely not my intention, but Steve offered me a price I couldn't refuse (since my max bid had been $15,001) I figured that was a fair price to sell it for, since that had been my valuation of the book...and, it just so happened that brian had a 2.5 for sale to replace this copy with, otherwise, I would not have sold at any price (at that time, mind you)...as one of those "wierd" completist guys, once I have a copy in my possession, unless I have access to a replacement copy, I don't consider selling...but, there is a certain "thrill" associated with selling a high dollar book (versus a $100 book on ebay)...so, I am trying to work on "expanding" our business model to include GA books (with Filter81)... I have picked up about 20+ GA Detectives since my last posted JPG..but nothing really worth showing that you all have not already seen before... gator It's a privilege to sell certain books, but the mourning period can be agreed...but, the book went to a good home, so it eases my pain

  10. Yes we can, but most of us would prefer not to. I will fill in the blanks (didn't want to, but you made me). From Marvel 72, I immediately sank to the lowest levels of depravity. In the simplest terms, all hell broke loose for me. The term budget lost all meaning. Money was no object. Food, clothing, and rent was sacrificed in the hunt for TIMELY. While I made my living in a cardboard box, I was scouting out my next acquisition. Family, friends and loved ones were all kicked to the curb as my single minded pursuit of the all powerful funny-book become the defining focus of a wasted soul. Fortunately, I had enough where-with-all and presence of mind to fill the holes in my collection before having to resort to degrading acts (what is degrading when one runs a comic book store?). I am now on semi-level footing and progressing slowly with my return to sanity. TIMELY.............. wow, beddy just summed up the story of my life (well, at least the last few years) gator

  17. hello all... I have a 3000 square foot dual warehouse and office...full of comics and toys, but nothing really worth showing.... I have a guest house off the back of our house/pool area (my 13 year old think she's moving out there next year...ha!)...right now, it has my home "office" and game room...computer, printers, scanners, video arcade games, drink vending machine, pool table, kids toys....and COMICS....with exception of a few "safe" books, my meager GA collection is housed for all to see (all over the floor, pool table, closet, bathroom, etc)....I have all my silver age and up at my warehouse, as I use for "sale" stock...but, I might take a few jpgs sooner than later rick
  18. Is this one of the "Int" books that there was a thread started about? Ken This book is from an original owner collection, and I did not see the "Int" thread.......so, I guess I'm not much help here This book has been "reserved" for sale to the Detective27Kid once it comes back from CGC......wonder how she'll grade with the minor bottom spine damage but overall very nice condition? Steve I wonder too!....but, I have a space cleared out in the old MMC box for "her" gator
