  1. What a lot of great research! Thanks for sharing it and the great stories. Love the picture of Frank with the 1948 picture behind him!
  2. THANKS for sharing this! Love pop ups!!! Beautiful book!
  3. This thing boggles the mind. All his characters there...What a fantastic rarity!
  4. Here is a really cool unlisted 1948 magazine sized comic from Street and Smith. They packaged a bunch of Bob Powell "How To..." strips about football skills from their True Sports series into a separate giant stand alone squarebound comic. There is another like this about baseball...
  5. Dell had several versions of their encased penny. These premiums you've shown are museum quality stuff! Thanks for sharing them!
  6. Those Venus books are tough to find in grade!
  7. Glad you liked them. Yes, it seems to be a complete original comic novelette.
  8. He's right, it's a beautifully printed object - top of the heap. Some Plat books are so colorful and hefty that pictures don't do them justice. They provide lapfulls of reading.
  9. Forgive the big pics but they show the widescreen look.
  10. Collecting of Platinum Age comics is still developing. Some see it as a dead end. Some see it as a historical frontier. The market for Platinum Age, as for all comics, will be driven by interest. With the internet, we are learning that many Platinum comics were very popular at the time and are more common then we suspected, while many are proving very scarce and rare. Would Platinum Comics flourish or waste away in their own forum? Perhaps the main reason there is no Plat Forum here is that CGC does not slab them. Maybe both can be fixed... Platinum Age Comics - Let's give it a try!
  11. Beautiful copy! But can someone explain exactly what is supposed to be happening on this cover? Did the people get on the subway with the arm hanging there? If so, why do they all look so surprised now? Did the person who was holding the handle suddenly disappear and leave just their arm? Did their arm break and they fell to the ground? If so, why is everyone looking at the arm and not at the person on the ground? Did the arm suddenly materialize out of thin air?
