  1. In comics, you would have the top third cut off as a remainder for the vendor to receive credit, with vinyl, you would have cut-outs or punched holes / cut corners from LP's designated as discounted LP's but in pulps?

I've noticed in some instances where small punch holes are seen in pulp magazine covers.

Apologies for another 'newbie' question, but is that an indication of something similar to the above mentioned?

I've seen this before in older slabs like this one. I guess they needed to use that spacer to hold a book that size in place side to side. But this TMNT doesn't have it so I'm not sure what the reason is for using it.

Interesting... thanks for posting that Shadow issue with the same inner holder!

So I got my first two of these Spider-Man #7's back (Spider-boy) and sold them quickly on my ebay store for $124.99 (verifiable by simple ebay sold searches and looking at my recently sold items - link available in my profile). I have a few dozen 9.8's that are shipping back to me and estimated delivery date is Friday, May 19th. GPA is $126.

Let's start with three available at $75 each shipped - or more if you want to increase the donation - with all proceeds going to the family. An excellent price for members of these boards! If you take, please state how many. If the delivery date is accurate, I will ship to you on Monday, May 22.

Please see my Kudos thread as well if need be, no worries on your end for sure.

Love the cool Shadow "stuff". Great glow on your ring. Mine still does the same thing. Here are a few other cool Shadow items to look out for. The "Whip Waste" is not really an authorized Shadow item. But has obviously, been influenced by the character. Hard to beat Dwight's stash but that comes from being so focused which I, obviously am not...

I have the same John Mann & Sons Ink Blotter as you but yours looks much nicer.  I found this one at an antique store in Rochester, NY

There's none that's an obvious stand-out, I think.  The Brundage covers are generally more in demand than the others, although the February cover by Finlay is pretty popular as well.  I think it's possible the relatively more sedate Brundage covers later in the year are less coveted than the first few.

With all that said, there's nothing like October 1933 or even July 1936 that stands out as the big demand issue of the year that I'm aware of.

Yes, the October 1933 issue is definitely a treasure to try to obtain!

  6. I think this is the 3rd time that I'm going through this thread... one of my favorites here on the boards!  Seeking out and collecting Shadow memorabilia is certainly addicting... this @detective35 collection is incredible and absolutely something worthy of going to a museum to see.  I find it fascinating with how many different directions one can go with this.  From the Street and Smith aspect to the radio material to the promoters... it's fantastic.  Obviously I'm new to this and finding it very time consuming to research and track down certain pieces but at the same time, such an exhilarating learning process too.

So even though my Shadow collection is small, it is rapidly growing from pulps to comics to promotional material as well as other relatable items.

I feel like I've officially entered the 'Shadow World' and I have no intention nor desire to leave.  lol

These are 7 of my favorite items from this new endeavor of mine...

#1. In my opinion, the greatest matchbook ever produced!

#3. Canadian Ink Blotter - which illustrates the reach of the Shadow radio series and Blue Coal.

#4. Sample of Blue Coal from the Glen Alden Company courtesy of the Huber Breaker in Ashley (Wilkes-Barre), Pennsylvania.

#5. The October 1936 issue of the pulp series that broke my flood gates.  In my opinion, Bill Finger and Bob Kane seared this image into their minds and the rest is history...

#6. Blue Coal truck driver jacket patch.  Hmm... Now why would I relate to this?

#7. The Shadow told me weeks upon weeks about the importance of being able to stop in time on slippery roads with this.  Definitely good advice... The Shadow Knows!
