  5. Good luck with the sale... great book! It's amazing how hot 181 has gotten and could even get hotter, especially after this image was posted recently by Hugh Jackman (with Kevin Feige).

If anyone has concerns about shipping from Russia, I had a nice transaction with Karim and although it took a little bit to arrive, he kept in contact with me as well as frequent updates on my shipments status.  (thumbsu

    Happy (late) Birthday, Karim!

  6. Very frustrated but at least I know where the problem is.

I mailed a box of 3 books on March 12th through Priority Mail.  All were FAST TRACK / MODERN / PRESSED.

They were delivered on March 15th but not 'received' by CGC until April 10th (26 full days later).

When I called CGC a few weeks back, all I could gather was that the books are apparently at CCS but I haven't been billed yet by them so I have no idea where they are or what's actually going on.

Is CCS a separate physical location?

Anyways, I was kind of curious and decided to send in 1 book in a Gemini mailer through Priority Mail last week. I shipped it on June 22nd and it was delivered on June 25th. This was an EXPRESS order and I marked 'EX' on the mailer.

Three days later it's now SFG.

So at least I now know where the problem is... sadly.

As far as insurance purposes go you should declare the max value for the tier you are submitting in.  At least that is the advice I was given on my first submission.

Like the pricing change at time of submission, I would assume they respect the initial tier/FMV at time of submission but cant say for sure. I know they won't nickel & dime you though. Like before FMVs increased for tiers, I sent A LOT of stuff on the $200 FMV bubble Modern. They didnt upcharge me for like a 9.8 valued around 300.

    Thank you!

  8. Quick question on declaring value on submissions...

In the unfortunate event of your books getting lost by CCS/CGC, how is FMV assigned to those books? I'm curious because the value I placed on the 3 books I sent in March were reflective of the prices I paid. Obviously the FMV in June is quite different.

The GA/SA comic book market has grown up to "real time" pricing and valuation. Ha, CC, GPA etc have the most relevance. As a historical tool, the Overstreet guide is second to none but it is not relevant for your GA/SA purchases which happen today. I would say keep the first 20 years, and then one every 5 years or so and regarding the new one I would put that money towards buying the real thing itself, the GA/SA comic book.

Half of me wants to tell you to keep the collection going and spend the $40 for each new edition but the other half completely agrees with Mmehdy's statement. I think for you, the decision will be based on the nostalgia factor.
