Serendipity sums it up perfectly...
Congratulations!
-
Great book and very nice looking...
That's a strange 'clip' from the bottom RC and I'm guessing that's what brought the grade down. Still, very nice eye appeal on that one!
-
I agree with you... I found myself (almost) getting into it last night as well but was able to restrain myself and saved myself some money.
But yes, the extended feature is certainly frustrating!

Wow!!
Congratulations on a very nice book! I love that cover and it seems like a very sharp copy for a 6.5.
How's the BC?
-
That is such a cool story and major kudos for modelmaker's generosity and thoughtfulness!
By the way, that Emma Stone 8x10 is very classy!
-
Brantley bought an early Sensation Comics from me and paid immediately. Very pleasant communications and easy to deal with.
Thanks again!

It's taken me a couple of days to go through this entire thread, but I'm glad I did as I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at your books, Marty and reading your comments.
I've especially enjoyed your recollections of listening to the Saturday morning radio shows which looks to have sparked accompanying comics!

They certainly are expensive... Kirk seems to always be 'cheap'.
I loved Neptunian!!!
Thank you for the opportunity to relive the memories!!!
-
That Betty and Veronica 40 is such a nice cover... and thanks for posting the pic of your Mego Enterprise Bridge!
I use to enjoy that thing to no end way back when!

Captain America Comics or Captain America?
-
Absolutely stunning!!!
Still waiting to get a copy of that one for myself...

Those are some very nice sketch covers and thanks for linking that sales thread... some awesome books that you picked up and that were for sale!

I like this...
"And it’s simply this: do you remember why we are even here?"
"... a result/ expression of our own living, happily irrational love of comic books as an art form. I honestly feel deep in my heart that that bond between us partakes of the sacred, and ties us together in important, constructive, and all kinds of cool ways. I would not trade for any amount of money the unlikely and wonderful relationships I've built up over the years in my pursuing the hobby, whenever and wherever and however."
Well said!

And with this thread....micro-trimming moves one step closer to market acceptance.
I give it 18 months before Ewert goes public with his services.
Coming soon.....'the dangers of improper trimming'.
I knew that slippery slope had to be here somewhere...
Totally unrelated, but when I was very young I found my grandfather's stamp collection. Those little stickers, with their unsightly scalloped edges, looked soooo much better cut off!

Ed sold me some books for my collection that were amazing... very thoughtful and I don't think I can remember a better packaged shipment of raw books!
An absolute pleasure to deal with!

Great stuff KofR!!!
I finished this sketch of a mate of mine the other day:
Based on his music video:
Done on an iPad.
That is really cool!!
And I have to admit there's something insanely addictive about that music video and the song (and no, it's not just the female ) ... I really liked the song!
I am not much of an artist but I like to try sometimes...In light of my little dude being born I wanted to put something in his room that went with the theme and looked sort of like a Golden Age Comic...This is what I came up with...be gentleThat's awesome Gino!

That's a crazy cover (Manhunt 1) and one I've never seen until now... congratulations on that one! Also, I have to say that the Granov- Scarlet Witch cover is absolutely stunning!
-
Just received a very nice Action Comics from Don and I couldn't have asked for a better transaction... quickly shipped from the UK and packed nicely!
Thanks again!!

Faded.
A (long gone) LCS displayed all their key books in a display case whish had built in fluorescent lights and they all looked horrible.
A VF Flash 123 in this condition... there wasn't much left of the image to appreciate!
-
Mike paid for a book within minutes and is very easy to deal with.
Thanks again!
-
Great to deal with... communication was awesome and paid very quickly on a lot of books!
Thanks so much once again, Tim!

I'll do better. Here's my Joker/ Bat 1 splash recreation painting by our very own Ryan Heshka. This would have made a great Bat 1 cover--first joker app and on the FC--perhaps Bat 1 would be worth a bit more today? I think demand would be even higher.Could someone possibly post this first glimpse of the clown prince of crime. Here's the original splash on the first joker story on bat 1
Love it Ben! Yeah, that might have made for an even more iconic cover. BTW: Yours truly may or may not be talking with Mr. Heshka regarding a couple GA cover recreations! The more I looked at his work, the more I realized I had to get something.

Unfortunately, I have spent too much time working and not enough with a pencil and paper in my hand over the last decade. Here are a few things I did right before my son was born, since his birth it has been a struggle to find the time:
Inspired by some of my favorite wood block Japanese artists (Kuniyoshi, Sadahide, Yooshi).
My wife saw an Octopus tryptch it was several thousand dollars to buy the print. I spent a day or two working this copy up approx. 2 ft. x 4 ft. - a lot of detail close up.
I love that very large Octopus piece!
"I have spent too much time working and not enough with a pencil and paper in my hand..."
I've been feeling the exact same way!

Here's a collage I made out of inexpensive comic books. My version of Edward Munch's The Scream. Working on my second collage right now.
