  1. Correction, 100 was a 96 page special, not 100 pages.
  2. Well, it's been a long time since I read them, but I think it was around the issues in the 80's or 90's issue range of V4, because I DO remember that they returned to the 30th Century in a big, giant-sized 100 page issue 100. It was shortly thereafter that Abnett/Lanning/Coipel did the Legion of the Damned story, which lead to Legion Lost, and etc.
  3. It's absolutely true. Once I got Marvel Unlimited, I stopped buying Marvel books, because there's only about a 3 month delay between release and the time it is added to the app, and honestly I run 6 to 12 months behind on my reading anyway, so I don't care about reading it right away. It's a terrific bargain.
  4. I'd be thrilled if they got rid of Barry (he's the worst) but I don't think there's any chance of that. He'll be out of Speed Jail before the end of S4E1, most likely.
  5. Cool, my friend was just telling about this on Monday, and luckily it's on Netflix, so I'll be checking it out soon!
  6. I'd wager that mine is a 9.6, wonder now if I should send it off? Hmm.
  7. IIRC there was at least one storyline during the Moy years where there was a group of LoSH "trapped" in present day. It can be done, for sure.
  8. Wow, the new poster is...awful. I mean, I realize that we live in an era when all we can expect is giant heads, but man, this has a "Baby's First Photoshop" vibe to it. Yuck.
  9. Yes, had it done well, I'm sure that would have been the case. But since it tanked, it was best to let it "breathe" a little before launching the shared universe. In my mind, I guess the Universal Monsters were really the first cinematic shared universe, so I don't mind this so much. What I mind is that these movies are probably all going to suck.
  10. Same. When I was a kid, I thought Kirby's stuff was just so...weird. Of course, I grew up in the 80's, so I was all about Art Adams, George Perez, John Byrne, and their ilk. When I was about 18 or 19, I started working at a comic book shop, and I was spending a lot of time bagging and boarding books. And then one day, it was like a switch was flipped in my brain, and I suddenly GOT Kirby, and was suddenly, totally in love. He's been my absolute favorite ever since.
  11. Bret Blevins is my go to for the "underappreciated artist" tag. I think he's just tremendous. He draws the cutest babes, he is great at cartoony art, he's great at illustrative art, he can paint, he does it all. But there just isn't much of his art out there at all. This is my favorite piece of the very few I've been able to track down.
  12. Oh man, I was a HUGE RHPS fan, and couldn't believe it when these books came out. Still have my original copies. How great is that art??? Killer!
  13. My recollection (strictly anecdotal) was that while Superman 75 was obviously a huge event, retailers were still not entirely prepared for just HOW big it ended up being, so when #500 came up, they overcompensated, big time. So my assumption would be that the 500's would outnumber the 75's considerably. But again, that's just my conjecture.
  14. Anyway, since the thread was raised from the dead, here's my two cents. I started with the Dave Stevens' Rocketeer, and it is still my favorite. I also have and adore Simonson's Thor Kirby's New Gods Kirby's Kamandi Hellboy in Hell PS: Almost forgot DD Born Again! Got it for X-mas last year! And there are some non-IDW books working in the same vein, that I have enjoyed: For Simonson fans, you can't pass up "Alien: The Illustrated Story" (signed edition by Titan) and Dark Horse's "Robocop vs Terminator". I also really like the Graphitti DC books, especially the Kelley Jones stuff.
  15. Huge fan of the copper LoSH stuff, including the entire Volume 2 Giffen run, and I'm also one of the few who loves the TMK/5YL stuff above all of the rest! Also a big fan of the reboot Legion/nnaires titles drawn by the Moys. Such great stuff, all of it, and the bonus is that most of it can still be found in 25 and 50 cent boxes.
  16. Seems like WB/DC may have finally gotten something right. 100% onboard for this!
  17. Actually, next week is looking a little more reasonable Aliens Dead Orbit 2 Lobster Johnson Pirate's Ghost 3 Visitor 4 Dark Days the Forge 1 WW K1 Black Science 30 Sex Criminals 19
  18. Man, this is a much heavier week than I would have thought. Stupid variants. Stupid me for buying them! Batman 66 & Wonder Woman 77 Tec 957 (both covers) Hellblazer 10 (both) Batman & The Shadow (all 3) Kamandi Challenge (both) Wonder Woman 23 (both) Archives One-Shot - Xaime cover Jim Henson's Power of the Dark Crystal Jack Kirby Collector Now, let's see how rough next week is going to be...
  19. And in addition to those, Bowen also made: Classic Action Classic Unmasked Brown Action Astonishing Museum Weapon X Old Man Logan This could get expensive very, very fast!
  20. They must have bought a collection from someone. I picked up the two yellow Wolvies this weekend, but didn't have cash on hand for the other two. But if they've still got them, I may need to return. This is what they look like:
  21. They've still got a brown costume up at the LCS...as well as the X-Force Costume...
  22. Thanks! As the day goes on, the more convinced I am that they're going into the permanent collection...and what's worse, I may need more!
  23. The Producer's Cut isn't a drastically different movie, it just adds in a few short scenes, some connective tissue which helps the movie make a little more sense, and slightly changes some things (the Ox-Burster instead of the Dog-burster, etc.) You're no longer left wondering what happened to characters who just completely disappeared in the theatrical cut. Either cut, for me, would still be my #3 choice overall in the series, as I think the movie has its merits, I just think that the PC is the slightly better of the two versions. I was so excited about the movie coming out that I couldn't wait, and read the novelization before "Alien 3" opened. It made so much more sense than the finished theatrical picture did. Then I finally saw the Producer's Cut on the Quadrilogy set, and was like "OH, they DID shoot all of this stuff, they just cut it out for some dumb reason."
  24. That's my beef as well. I liked the ponderings of "Prometheus", it gave the characters and the film some weight, even in spite of some of the stupider decisions. I think Ridley overcorrected too hard with "Covenant", thinking that audiences just wanted the blood and guts.
